Triumph Sprint ST1050 Exhaust

I know we have a few sprinters on here so thought I would share - these turned up in the post today:-

Wolf Trident carbon cans with polished slash cut ends - will be fitting them at the weekend but have already whipped the baffles out ;)

Oh yesh.

Will get booked in for next week to have the TOR remap so that might take away a bit of the popping and banging but they are still going to sound pretty evil.

Having got rid of my SV1000 with twin remus cans (60mm outlets ) last year, the Sprint always sounded a bit quiet - I have been waiting a long time to get these

I am sure we can come to a mutually agreeable arrangement ;)

Uuuuu... =P~ Very pretty...

I'm a big fan of the sprint (my next bike, if all goes well and the mts12 does not tempt me more..). But was wondering, have you seen one with a low can (as in NOT the factory underseat), because that would solve the pillion heat problems + might loose a couple of hefty kg

In any case, congrats! Do show when it's fitted and, of course, record the wonderful music it makes :)

Looking at the configuration of the pipe work, I assume these exhausts are manufactured with nothing other than aesthetics in mind? I too would like to see a picture of them fitted. :)

Is there a big difference in weight compared to the OE?

You can get a low can but personally I think they look sh1te. These cans are a lot less restrictive, so don't get anywhere near as hot as the standard can so no problems with the pillion seat, and they are supposed to be a lot lighter.

Standard can is pretty restrictive with pi55y peashooter outlets - despite the pipework these new cans 'claim' around a 6 bhp increase with a remap - I have however bought them more for the looks and sound, as I already have plenty of horsepower to play with ;)

These were around £380, which is about what I paid for the twin remus cans on my SV1000, and a lot less than I paid for the renegades on my SV650

I'll weigh them and the original can at tonight/tomorrow when I do the install - will let you know...

Installation will be done tomorrow but in the meantime THIS is what they should sound like - these are the standard tapered cans rather than the slashcuts - if anything I reckon mine will be louder & better looking!

That is one sexy looking set of pipes! For me though they will never sound as good as a set of cans on an SV1000 ;)

Yeah they do sound very nice :)

ive been looking into exhausts for the sprint and part made up my mind to save up for some d&d exhausts, the price is similar but but to get them shipped over to the uk is very expensive (duties and postage cost....eeek).
these are the d&d's for anyone who dont know....

http://www.starcycle-usa.com/catalog...1050_s-o_2.jpg

D&D's are very sweet looking and sound nice too. But well im not sure what to do now, these tridnets looks nice, sound nice and they are british! :) british exhaust for a british bike :salut:.... sounds good :D

That would be me. ;)

I'll be interested to see how they look & sound once fitted, not that I've got the cash to splash at the moment.

All installed - took about an hour and a half - bit fiddly getting the number plate hanger back in but all sorted.

Original can weighed 7kg, new pipes 4.6kg.

Nipped out this afternoon for a test ride - OMFG. Popped in to the Triumph dealer and got the ECU re-mapped, which has taken away a bit of the popping and banging but damn it sounds good.

I took {ahem} a few more pictures for those that asked for them:-

I think they look fairly crap compared to the underseat triple one.

My Dad had 955i daytona with a "wunoff" stainless underseat twin exit, that looked and sounded friggin awesome.

orose 06-02-10 06:26 PM

Re: Triumph Sprint ST1050 Exhaust

Can't seem to find a true underseat one for the 1050 though, as ideal as that would be.

It's got to be said, those look a damn site better than the non-slash cut ones. http://www.trident-exhausts.co.uk/pa...nt-st-1050.php

Out of interest, where did you get them from?

As usual I say go to Beowulf and get them to weld together something purdy :smt033

Actually zorstec are on here too, worth asking them.

Direct from Peter at Trident - he has only recently started doing the slashcuts, so doesn't advertise them...

Also, the non-slash cut pictured in the link are not polished, the polished ones do look a bit better imho.

Cheers. I need a battery before I worry about a set of cans though sadly.

I know this is a little off subject but a quetions for some fellow sprinters re scottoilers. Just got mine delivered and wondering were everyone has mounted their reservioirs? On the sortoiler website it shows it fitted to the sub frame just under rider but I was wondering of there was anywhere different to mount it that could be better for re filling?

That is where mine is mounted - bit of a pig for refilling but I don't have to do it too often!
