******** UPDATE *****************
Need to get rid of ASAP, £600 ono for the whole thing (as seen in pic) with a couple of boxes of various bits an bobs. (keep in mind engine is probably dead)
*************************

Hey guys,

Am breaking my 2002 sv650s, had a low speed drop and damaged the front but the mushrooms saved the rest (thanks R&G!).

Never done this before, so am gonna start off with posting up a few pics of the bike in its current state and asking who wants what. After that will start to break down the parts and list them on here and finally anything left over onto eBay.

Also, I have a shed full of sv stuff collected over the years so anything you can't see that you want.. ask!

As i work quite long hours I can only send out the parts on Saturdays only.

PM me or reply to this as i'll be checking pretty much every day.

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the delay, I've had a few offers on the bike as a whole, so not sure if breaking. Will keep everyone informed.

But for everyone requesting a bit more info, have compiled a list to making things a bit clearer.

More Info & damage details....

  • Unrepairable (needs replacing)
    • Nosecone Fairing
    • Screen
    • Front wiring loom
    • Headlight unit
    • Front indicators (flushmount) (needs 1 new bulb and 1 lens cover)
    • Clocks/Speedo
    • Clock surround
    • Mirrors
    • Front subframe
  • Minor damage/Repairable
    • Front left fairing
    • Front right fairing (very very minor, basicly a crease)
    • Front brake fluid resivoir (snapped it off when taking clocks off, doh!)
    • Left footrest (gear selector end bit broke off and foot peg wont stay up, always folds back down)
    • Right footrest (Missing the brake end bit)
    • Right-side crash mushroom
  • Engine
    • Done about 40,000 (second set of clocks so hard to remember, the last clocks died on me for some reason)
    • Backfires when letting off throttle
    • Not sure whats wrong with it but haven't ran it since the clocks are broken.
    • Think its repairable, but if not good for spares.
  • Tyres & brakes
    • Needs new tyres front an back
    • Needs new brakepads front an back
  • Spares I have but not fitted
    • Spare gearbox (saw it on ebay an thought why not?!?)
    • unopened rear brake pads (ebc)
    • New Genuine suzuki oil filter
    • spare damaged front left and right fairing (can be repaired)
    • Unused engine bars (good for stunts or crash protection)
    • Spare clock surrounds
    • Spare damaged/slightly bent rear subframe (repairable i think?)
    • Euro spec headlight unit
I think i've got more spares then that in me shed, but thats all i can think of at the moment.

Bike hasn't been written off, all legit.

Broke it while approaching a traffic light and front slipped out at about 10mph and felt to the floor. Front damage, mushroom took the grunt of it.

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

I'm interested in tail tidy/undertray if it's as one. Where do the indicators go (or is it a track bike?)

And the can- is it messed up completely? Is it oval? Is the hanger bracked still nice and round?

allantheboss 05-03-10 12:17 AM

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

And your R&G swingarm mushrooms?

Madtone 05-03-10 06:05 PM

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

Hi Allan, the tail tidy is custom made by me and is seperate to the undertray. Can be sold together or seperate.

The rear indicators are integrated with the tail light. LED taillight, when you indicate half of the light flashs amber.

The can is oval, its a lil bent but still works. The hanger is fine and is oval too (obviously!).

The R&G swingarm bobbins are fine also.

****UPDATE***
It doesn't look like i'll be selling the bike whole, so i think its decided i'll be breaking it. Gonna give the people interested in buying a couple more days and then i'll start to break it up and give prices to the guys who put dibbs on the parts.

Hi, what are the couple of 'bits n' bobs ' in boxes bud?

Looked at pics and looks like the lock stop tab on frame has broken off.(?) .

Cheers

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

Hi,

The bits an bobs are the spare bits i've collected over time. Spare rear left an right fairing, gearbox, engine bars, eu spec headlight, oil filter, unopened rear break pads and loads of other bits. Would have to go out to shed an make a list of em all, but i can honestly say quite a fair few bits.

An the lock stop tab, is that the thing thats stops the handlebars from turning a certain angle? If so, then yes it broke off.

I'm waiting for a car to sell(for the money) but where abouts are you? are the forks straight etc? and when you say the engines dead what do you mean exactly?

Madtone 21-03-10 09:21 AM

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

I'm in North london. Enfield/Waltham Cross area, which is pretty much slap-bang on top of junction 25 on the m25.

An yes, the forks an rest of bike are straight.

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

Anddo you know whats wrong with the engine that you said is prbably dead?

Madtone 21-03-10 04:20 PM

Re: Breaking sv650s (k2)

Not sure whats wrong with the engine, it backfires when closing the throttle and it sometimes misfires.

Might be repairable but don't have the knowledge to know for sure. Can't start it to check as the clocks are broke. So felt better in saying its probably dead.
