SV1000 Value

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Re: SV1000 Value

Bargain and the right colour :D. That would be up for £3,000+ in a dealers with that mileage (if genuine of course)

Shadow 21-03-10 11:51 AM

Re: SV1000 Value

Mine was £500 more than that, with more miles to.

Get some Bar Keepers Friend from Asda

http://www.granite-care.co.uk/articl...ers-friend.jpg

Add water, put on downpipes, make a cuppa, scrub with green scrubbing pads.

no idea but it definatly has a 180 rear tire on it, and the sv1000 are the only sv that had a rim that could take a 180 tire properly

maybe you shoul take it down the Mway flat out if you get it over 140mph then its defo a 1000 lol

I think the biggest issue is that he has a SV1000 in front him, but the documentation is for a scooter. What does the V5 say?

Re: SV1000 Value

I did wonder that yesterday when I first read the thread, but took it as writer error.

Seems dodgy to me!

Sort that little detail out and then I'll tell you exactly how to get yer downpipes shiny.:-)

Re: SV1000 Value

My 1000s has black down pipes, I think it's only the unfaired "n" models had the shiny downpipes unless someone has changed them.

Mainly cause yours are filthy:p

Hmmmmm perhaps the OPs new bike has indeed some dodgy reg plate? If an MOT centre is going off the reg, and its described as an400, surely that would be easily noticed?

genesismike 22-03-10 10:51 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

Lol well they are after yesterday, but generally they are matt black, I'd love shiny downpipes but I don't think these are stainless or chromed under the paint

Kwak ZZR had a K3 faired thou with very shiny downpipe, have yours been painted or is it muck?! :D

dizzyblonde 22-03-10 10:54 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

All SVs downpipes are stainless.

I think someone has had out the BBQ paint ;-)

genesismike 22-03-10 11:00 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

Definately painted, got me thinking now about some nice new shiny ones, or maybe strip them back and polish, can't see why someone would paint stainless or chromed pipes though.
Ian does the v5 clarify your issue ?

I just checked the past 3 MOT certificates and they all call the bike a Suzuki AN 400. The V5 Also calls the Bike Suzuki AN 400. The 3 last letter saying thank you for for declareing as sorn also state Suzuki AN 400.

Everythink states the bike Suzuki AN 400 but also states 996cc in the same letter???

12 Months tax was £64 for 12 months in 2007 ? That seems a little low

Anybody got any ideas?

Re: SV1000 Value

12 months tax is currently £66 for the year for bikes of that size

Ouch, sounds like a mess up that. As said by others, hopefully just a paperwork **** up somewhere. Get on to the DVLA asap and check the engine/frame numbers match up.

barwel1992 23-03-10 12:30 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

sounds to me like you have a highly modded AN400 (lol) with a 1000cc v twin, shure does look like a sv thogh

dizzyblonde 23-03-10 01:29 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

Spose theres one good thing, if its all above board, yer insurance will be peanuts???

G 23-03-10 02:15 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

This doesn't look like it will end well. Even if the v5 is wrong all the past history is too decreasing itsvalue somewhat, although it was abargain anyway.

Just fingers crossed it's not cloned or dodgy, as you could end up without a bike.

Cymraeg_Atodeg 23-03-10 06:50 PM

Re: SV1000 Value

You got the best coloured Thou' there, but, make sure the contact the DVLA about the V5 as until that is right your insurance in invalid :-s

Anyway, who said something about down-pipes being shiny/black!? Mine are a nice ferrous oxide brown and have been since I bought her (and for a few years I would think.) The down-pipes and full exhaust system are part of my winter project.

Anyway, good luck with the V5 Ian and enjoy the Thou'

Re: SV1000 Value

Offtopic a bit but if the downpipes are really bad take wet n dry paper to them n keep goin finer grade untill theyr shiney thentake some autosol metal polish to them for ultimate chrome finish!!!

Drew Carey 25-03-10 09:39 AM

Re: SV1000 Value

Can I suggest a quick call to Suzuki too. As they can run the VIN number on their systems and see what it comes up with.......or at least they should be able to.

so does fine wire wool and WD40 then heat the bike up and let it smoke, seems to keep the crud off it and stops it from re rusting
