MOT in Aberdeenshire / Aberdeen

Hello All,

Can anyone recommend an MOT test centre in Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire?

I tried Shirlaws but they have quite a backlog at the moment!

I stay in Banchory if that helps.

Thanks in advance! :)

It's somewhere near Ad53ggz, not sure to be honest.
From what I heard, you don't want to take your bike to S'laws for an MOT.

I use H&S Motors in Jopp's Lane (behind John Lewis). Unfortunately due to sad events, they are opened Saturdays only. Give them a call on Saturday.
I used them 3 times, great service :smt023.

Cumfy should be able to advise you on Banchory, other than that somebody on Aberdeenbikers is recommending Central Garage in Laurenckirk.

And welcome :thumleft:

The Garage at Leylodge near kintore is nae bad. Heell do it while you wait aswell. Been a few times and never had any probs fae him (apart from the obvious I forgot to sort before the MOT ) Not tried the station garage in Kintore but always plenty of bikes waitingg for MOT there

Also theres the guy in the car park in Alford, hes new but sure he does MOTs.

And think thats the nearest to us Buncry folk.

1999 Curvy SV650S, stay round the corner from Tillybrake park.

hi Andy, welcome, I use H & S same as Dyziowg, only cause it's just round the corner from my work and if there is an issue you've got sillets and ecosse near by. As Sheps said, the place he uses will do while you wait.

Am up in Forestside so just round the corner from you. Any time you want a run, give me or Sheps a shout, both in the village!:D

PM me and i'll send on my mob.

Cheers

I use Cameron Autotech in Cuminstown too, good bunch of lads, good prices on tyres, will do anything for you, patch tyres, change tyres, servicing, all bikers too I think!

They don't mind fruity cans on the MOT too :)

Thanks again all, just waiting for new chain and sprockets to arrive then will book MOT next week, don't fancy getting stranded somewhere random in case it fails as the chain is looking a little long in the tooth (;)).

Don't suppose either Cumfy or Sheps have the fancy tool for the job and the know-how to use it? Otherwise I think i'll leave it to the professionals!

Re: MOT in Aberdeenshire / Aberdeen

Andy, I am useless with the tools department, I would have to hand you over to my official mechanic, Sheps, lol.

He can usually sort most things in his garage, just be prepared to buy him a couple o beers in Skinners or a carry out.

Cheers

Ive got 1 somewhere. If you want i can give you a hand over the weekend. Im down Beech Tree Road so nae that far if your wanting

Re: MOT in Aberdeenshire / Aberdeen

Thanks for the generous offer

To be honest I doubt the chain and sprockets will arrive by Saturday (only ordered this morning), and I'd feel far too guilty taking up some of your weekend what with the weather we're having (surely you'd rather be riding?).

Besides I believe "the boss" has plans for me on Saturday in town.

However if you're sure you don't mind I might give you a shout on Sunday if you're not too busy... I hear you can be bribed with beer and stodge...

Sheps 03-06-10 06:44 PM

Re: MOT in Aberdeenshire / Aberdeen

If they dont arrive by the weekend should be free most nights to fit them. If they do im sure ill have a free minute or 2 over the weekend to help out.

And beers always the best payment espetially with a pub a very short walk away :smt081

Just came across this site by chance - have a bike but it's a hyabusa - any way the Cuminestown place is Cameron Motors
51 - 53 High Street, Cuminestown. Tel 01888545230
I use them, Roy is the owner.
I have three bikes to MOT and then sell - Suzuki GSX 750F 1998 , 30708 miles think it's actually Kilom but will check. Suzuki GS 500E 23527 miles and Suzuki GSX 1300RK 16957 miles All in good condition first 2 havent been used for 2 years - all will have full years MOT's
