Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Got this email from a friend and wondered what you guys thought.
While driving on a rural end of the roadway on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Police and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out there to check.... "There are several things to be aware of ... gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women)to stop their vehicle and get out of the car. "There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police where gangs are placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in it...waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby. "Note that the location of this car seat is usually beside a wooded or grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it's a man, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too. DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!! DIAL 9-9-9 AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON'T EVEN SLOW DOWN. "IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSCREEN, DO NOT STOP TO CHECK THE CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPER AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY AND BLOCK YOUR VISION UP TO 92.5%, AND YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE CRIMINALS. THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS, SO PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES. THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND THESE ARE UNSAVOURY INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT." Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic used. Please be safe. Get started NOW -- SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES TO BE CAREFUL AND AWARE OF EVERYTHING AROUND THEM SO AS NOT TO BECOME A VICTIM. I know this isnt a new tactic but this kind of thing makes me sick, now people who really need help are going to be left well alone for fear of it being a hoax/robbery. The people behind this need putting down IMO. Sorry for rant it upset me. |
Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Egg thing has happened to me on the way home fro work at 3.30am on a dark road in woodland.
The car infront was well infront of me when I drove through the housing area and as soon as the road turned into Cannock Chase the car slowed and indicated, as I overtook as it was national limit the car turned its lights off, overtook me and lobbed things at the front of my car as the rear passenger leaned out of the window. THey drove infront of me indicating to the left for me to stop. Like heck I was. This went on for miles, no point in turning round as I had nowhere to go and they were staying in front of me, lights off for a reason and I wasnt going to overtake them again LOL. I was on the way home in my Police uniform, alone and not a car about. I dialled 999 and there was noone free to come to help me. Turned out it was local gang member, word out they wanted to kill a cop..... made me feel great. Ended up doing silly speeds through red lights to get to the local cop shop .... heart was somewhere in the last town I was in. So it does happen ... OK mine had a different motive :( Noone was questioned as the reg was to an unregistered car (pool car) and it was pitch black so I couldnt offer any descriptions, other than 4 up in a car, I use the M6 now LOL |

Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
shell may i ask what would happen if you ran them off the road (fishtail) due to the dangerous manner and attack they conducted on you

Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Wow, what if a bloke stops, do they bum rape him?
|
Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Bloke wouldn't notice, would be concentrating on the road. Not the side of it!!

I think I got that info from the Terrence Higgins trust, in reference to the fear about AIDS, but may be wrong. |
Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
That's fairly grim like. Luckily I always have a selection of sports equipment in my car and go out on the bike strapped with explosives, just in case.

Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
I thought it was another of them stupid mass mailed panic the population things.
So sent it to every woman in Burnley. Amazing last night 5,000 dinglesses were reported to be out looking for child seats at the side of the road. |

Giving or receiving?? unfortunately I can't give .......

Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Well, the car seat issue might be BS, but as can be evidenced by Shelly, the eggs certainly aren't.
Actually, in reply to Shelly's post... it makes me feel sick how little regard these people have for human life. They just woke up that day and say 'hmmm, I feel like ending the life of a police officer'. Not because they'd done anything, but because they were a copper. Makes my blood boil, and I'm far too young for high blood pressure. |

On a serious note, although this appears to be bs, this sort of thing does happen, and has done for years. About ten years ago, a friend of my mother in law was driving late one night and had to stop for a pram left in the middle of the road. Concerned she got out and had a look, although the pram was empty she pushed it out of the road and got back in her car to continue home. As she drove off she noticed a car pull out behind and follow her. She drove straight home laying a few bricks in her undercrackers, worried about the car that was following, and that had pulled up outside her house behind her. Luckily so did a police car that had been brought to attention by the car that was infact following her, because the driver had noticed a person get into the back of her car while she was looking in the pram. |

Nothing happened to the guys who did that to me although they are known for all sorts and I was in no douby if I had stopped I would have been a fatality (cant go into detail of what they known for). I have opened my eyes, ok mine was job related but I really didnt think my job would ever put me in danger off duty, albeit I wasnt aware of the danger at the time. |
Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
Trouble with these hoax emails, is that it may be a hoax now, until that is the chain email reaches some lowlife who decides it's a good idea and carries it out! Why we broadcast these things I'll never understand, just give the criminals all the ideas why not?

And strangley enough ..... you open the papers , and not once are these things reported as actually happening .... anywhere .

Re: Sad, especially if you are inclined to 'help' people...
True, odd account above for sure, but we don't have to be paranoid. Are you sure it isn't even in the Daily Mail? Really? Just after the bit where Princess Diana is going to ban paddling pools?
