MY gixxer stolen :'(
 

it was stolen a couple of months ago now but i still haven't got over it lol.

now i cant get insured on another 600 (not thats affordable anyway) cuz i lost my no claims bonus how s**t.

Sad times all round cant even get car insurance under 4500 anymore :( no matter what car.

insurance company's screw me over every way possible.

ive never seen why any one would ever drive with no insurance until now

truly no incentive anymore ?? agree?

yea insurance companies love to eek as much out of ya as possible, and i think insurance is set to maybe go up, as the grouping is changing from 20 being the highest, to 50 being the highest, not sure though.

are you early 20's i presume, hence the non affordable insurance?

maybe worth buying a wee scrapper 125cc for like £200 and riding it for a year, will have you on the road, and they are surprisingly fun... or maybe it's just a novelty i enjoy after riding my 600 for a while, but maybe best option??

although keep trying insurance companies, i got quoted £1300 third party only on the Fazer online from a company, and then i phoned them and i got 3rd party fire and theft on the Fazer 600 AND YBR-125 for £300... so keep your head up :)

That really does suck but there is NO excuse for driving without insurance. Ever. What Dill is suggesting is a good idea, get a wee 125 or something and run it for a year, get your no claims back. Will surprise you what a difference that will make

You would soon change ya mind everytime you went passed a rozzer and they gave you 6 points and £200 fine and seized ya bike at £150+ to get it back.

well ive just turned 18 but even when i had my gixxer when i was 17 with no no claims my insurance was only 2200 but now i cant get anything any wear near that 5000 has been my best so far.

and ive already brought a 125 with the intention of getting a years no claims but its so much of a come down from the 600 ive had it about 6 weeks and its depressing lmao.

ive tried lots of thing similar to that and 400cc's which arnt to bad im just waiting to hear about my job at work this week so i they keep me on i think ill get a little 400 but there is no new ones really there all about 20 years old :p better than my 125 still

haven't got a car yet but ive been doing quotes on loads of stuff 4450 being the cheapest and that was a ford ka i believe

lol if i was ever gonna do it (i wouldn't) id get at least a 1L sports bike not much is gonna stop you by the time they have got the helicopter out youd be long gone. but one can dream lmao

And yes ya need summat that is gonna go like poo off a shuffle so the rozzers dont catch ya plate, but then if they do then ya got riding offences

Best get insured .... alot simpler ROFL .... or get a rich woman that will pay for ya insurance if you cant afford it. :rolleyes:

Im 19 and ive been looking to get a super sport 600 of some sort, but the current company im with wont touch me on things like a 600RR, ZX6R till im 24! but theres a few other companies out there what will, just keep searching or as already mentioned, get a 125 and build up a year ncb on that

I was thinking if ya insurance is that much I would learn for next time, if ya bike gets nicked dont claim LOL ...... foot the bill as the bike probably aint worth as much as ya renewal price ha ha ha

i got my insurance on my Fazer600 when i was 18 for £600 off eBike when i was 18 with 0 yrs ncb...

and i'm currently with Falcon who i got it with for £300 for the Fazer 600 and YBR 125, and i was 20 at the time.

Get yourself a Fazer or Bandit or CBR600F, they would be nicer on insurance if anything, if you're not into a 400cc.

I agree the 125 is a big step down from a 600, but being able to rally around corners pretty much without braking, just fling the thing around cuz of how light and nimble they are, amuses me highly :)

try motorcycle direct (aviva) got my bike insured fully comp with 2 years NCB and will all my mods (a lot) coverd for £700 including brake down,legal cover,helth,euro travel

Compared to £4500?! That's a bargain.
I would however mind if I was in an accident, it ain't right or fair so agree with MBK deffo no excuse!

Gixxerman - for the cage (or bike if they cover them) try endsleigh, aviva or admiral/elephant (by phone) and when asked about claims say you have a bike claim; I believe they don't take bike claims into account with your premium so potential for a saving there.
For the bike try devitt mine's a bit under £400 TPFT on the sv with one claim.

No the c***s won't take bike NO claims, but bet your ass they'll take so much as a scratch on a bike against you.

I blame insurance companies for uninsured drivers, £4.5k is absolutely daft. How can they expect people to pay that?

I believe in Australia they have a system where basically your road tax is your third party cover?

The named companies take neither whereas most of the bast....companies will count bike accidents against you yet won't accept bike NCB.

Yeah that's right, and apparently road tax isn't even that much over there.

that is true mate, friend was living out there for 8 months, said thats why they all drive around in big V8s.
