I think he should keep those colours for the season...black bike, those leathers!

Can't wait to see the first race!

So fricking cool...

I so hope it works out. The bike looks huge compared to him on other bikes, looks like he is on it rather than part of it.

Highlights of testing are on Eurosport this week, I think Thursday about 5ish.

Looks very wobbly in those pix.

But you're right. Works Ducati has to be red.

Kawaski gotta be green

Race Ducati gotta be red.

On the race times he is faster than Hayden. Which is no bad.

Scrap that hayden is now faster

Re: Rossi On The Duc

Not that I'm being disloyal or owt but that Duc looks mint...or is it just because its black and gives the impression of being stealthy (obviously due to the clutch it is just an impression ;-))

Watched it live on tinterweb (BBC) today. The first hour and half was dull (no bikes out), but picked up when Rossi went out. Crutchlow had an off, but the Beeb had ended the internet stream at that point, doh!

Re: Rossi On The Duc

I watched some of it on the "red button" on the BBC this evening. Was great to see him larking about on the Ducati.

Should be interesting to see the colour scheme of the Ducati when they finally colour the panels

Rossi not doing well.

Early days or Marco Melandri panic?

Re: Rossi On The Duc

I think Rossi was like this when he switched to Yamaha, but then the bike completely changed by the first race next season. I wouldn't read too much into it.

is it being shown on eurosport tonight?

Re: Rossi On The Duc

From what I understand, the whole test was just for him to see which Engine he preferred out of the 3 on show for him. Rossi will get to grips I dont doubt. Give it time and we will see it :)

Re: Rossi On The Duc

More bad news for Rossi...

Randy De Puniet is saying that the Ducati seems very suited to his riding style.

That is the absolute last thing you want to hear!

The Doc will make it work for him regardless

Maybe he will change his name to

"The Docor" in tribute to Messie :P

Hahahaha, that gave me a chuckle ;-)

I reckon it's pointless even trying to figure from the first practise whether he'll do well on the Ducati or not. There will be so much testing between now and then and historically, he has always had teething issues during the off season, only to come out flying in the first race. If anyone can do it, Rossi can do it! :-)

Those leathers are AWFUL.

Berlin 12-11-10 10:24 PM

Re: Rossi On The Duc

Which just goes to show you have as much taste in leathers as you do in nail varnish ;)

I like 'em!

Re: Rossi On The Duc

I think the Rossi and Duc will be a brutal force to deal with as he's taking 7years of technology and thinking from Yamaha.

He looked tentative on tuseday but that was looked like an engine test and Loris was the same didn't push the limits of the duc.

The 2011 test is the one to watch he'll be at full bore. The VR46 Leathers are cracking along with the ? lid

Pedrosa 13-11-10 11:54 AM

Re: Rossi On The Duc

The Ducati being in black livery at this point is all down to the deal thrashed out with Yamaha for letting him test the Italian bike before his contract expires with them,(end of calender year not race year.)

Rossi cannot until after 31st December speak to any media regarding the Ducati.

He is going to be trying to decide whether to run a big bang engine,(like Casey did) or a screamer. I think some tweaks to the minimalistic carbon sub frame cannot be entirely ruled out either.

Will probably take the man a year to tune the bike to his liking....the next year, im pretty sure he will win....seeing as Lorenzo wont have Rossi's input on the bike in the paddocks.

Considering how Rossi turned a non winning bike in to a winner immediately,(when he switched from HRC to Yamaha) I doubt very much that it will take a full season to see him turn the Ducati in to a regular winner once again. Of course riders on other machines will also be extremely competitive in 2011 and so Rossi will not have a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Rossi On The Duc

Apparently he came off the test, said that he couldn't ride it like it was and tolf the team to go around and re-design the frame.

the Honda is a handling Scud missile compared to the Duc.
If he stays on (the bike) Lorenzo will have a serious 0% BS challenger

Just repeating what my friend from Ducatti told me.
