Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
Thats good Tom considering on watchdog the other day they were criticising insurance companies for hiking up the premiums by as much as 60%.

Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
some peoples car insurance has shot right up, my girlfriends sisters friend had insurance go up by about 400quid, no points, claims or crashes,
crazy how they calculate the risk factor, how you doin anyway mate? hope you aint out in this glorious weather today haha |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
Im Cool mate, you?
I aint got no work today so staying in the house as much as possible, no way am i going out today in that :( I have 4 vehicles in my house to insure, 2 bikes, 1 van, 1 car, im dreading the renewals. |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
ouch, hope they dont pull your pants down too far for the renewal,
i get a nice day in too, working for an agency sucks haha. im good thanks, had some hairy moments last few days tho, was going up the road, opened the throttle at about 35mph and just got spinning back tyre lol |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
I locked up my rear wheel on a greasy road on Sunday while out with Ralph, had the bike almost sideways, struggled to maintain control, had the sense to release the rear and front straight away, left the front alone then and applied rear again which locked again, nearly slid into Ralph.
In the end i just let go of all the braking and coasted past the turning, scary stuff. Ive never locked the rear up before with so little braking force, i did when i done a trackday cos i changed down gear and didnt match the engine speed so with braking and downshifting i locked the rear a couple of times, but apart from a wiggle i didnt have the rear try and catch the front up :smt103 Its exactly why the sprint is only coming out in winter when its glorious dry sunshine, otherwise its the DRZ. |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
haha glad to hear your alrite tho mate, so many riders start sliding and just keep braking hoping it will stop then fall off.
i just picked up a HORRIBLE XJ6-N from streetbike, its such an awkward riding position, and cos it has to have 33bhp restriction, its got a bloody throttle stop. you out and about today? |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
Ive been all over the place recently, mine is power slides all over the shop lol. Might be my maxxis tyre, or just my riding style.

Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
my first years insurance on a big bike is £185 tpf with 1yrs noc at the age of 25 an past my test a month ago on a standard 650 thats less than the 100cc scooter cost me at first, hows that figure?
|
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
age seems to factor alot into the costs, which is a bit crazy as someone who is 21 can have more road/riding experience yet still be a "higher risk" than someone who is 3 years older and has just passed the test, insurance companys must have a right ars3 about face calculator
|
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
yea its completly asr3 about face dude, i was a bit shocked when i got quotes.
tom do you drink in the actress? i think i was chatting to you a few weeks back before i got my sv? |
Re: =D just got my renewal from H&R.....
I've just been quoted £75 from bennetts on compare the market. Although I'm 40 I've only been riding 3-4 years & have to class the bike as being on the driveway (even though it isn't but the flimsy door of the alley hasn't been sufficient in the past to count as a building).
Need to check the small print but I was chuffed, dearest quote I got is £201. They can do one! |
