|
Re: LAN internet help
It shouldnt be trying to repair that mate, the right hand icon needs enabling. You might need to re install the drivers to get it to work correctly.
The 1394 is the firewire port iirc. |

Go into Control Panel Then click on the "system" icon Then choose device manager Then expand the "network adaptors" section and grab a screen shot of whats in there. |
Re: LAN internet help
I would reinstall the utilities on the machine as you're missing a port.

if its not there can it not be disabled through the bios menu on start up? i've had a look but it doesn't make sense to me, im sure it used to have lan adaptor |
Re: LAN internet help
OK its there, its the "ethernet controller" with the yellow question mark next to it in the "other devices section"
You just need to 1. find out what model LAN adaptor is in that machine 2. Download and install the driver for it. What model PC / Laptop is it ? |
Re: LAN internet help
Could try the quick check, right click on the ethernet adapter and select reinstall drivers, it might find them for you.

Re: LAN internet help
its a self build bought of my dads mate years ago, got a asus p4p800 AI board in it
|
Re: LAN internet help
Is the LAN Adaptor built onto the main board or is it a seperate card ?
If its built on the main board should be easy to find the adaptor, if its a seperate card, then pop the lid off and somewhere on the lan card it'll have the make and model on it. |
Re: LAN internet help
Its built onto the mainboard go here
http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...4P800&p=1&s=15 pick the OS you want and you should be able to download the driver for the ethernet adaptor built onto the main board. |
