Superglue in garage door lock
Went to my garage yesterday which is in a block of 20 about a ten minute walk away and found that my lock had been glued up, and it was the only one that had been? Took me over an hour to get it open. Anyone know if this is a thieves trick or just school kid messing. Should i be worried?

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
Somebody doesn't love you or more likely hoping you would break the lock and come along later if they know what you keep in there

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
how did you manage to get it open?

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
Hmm thats what i thought. Might be time to beef up security i think :( only worry is that putting more locks on the door etc may make it look like im hiding somthing.

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
Heat, would've sped the process up, cellulose thinners or a glue dissolver, I think there's a spray for getting super glue off.

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
Which someone told me about this glue remover before i glued my fingers together yesterday so i wouldn't of spent yesterday afternoon ungluing them

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
Like i said earlier, thinners normally works, just found out its because of the acetone, so anything acetone will work.

Re: Superglue in garage door lock
The theory is that people will glue locks in the hope that when you go to open the garage (as per your typical routine) you can't and as such, take alternative transport. And then the scumbags are free for 7-8 hours (whilst you're at work) to break the locks off and take whatever is inside.
f it's an option, move....your area sounds like a complete ****hole. |
Re: Superglue in garage door lock
My area is not a ****hole its a large estate with a very low crime rate, thanks for your explaination though.
@Beabert. Olive oil dissolves glue? |
Re: Superglue in garage door lock
You could live in snotsville, and still have someone put super glue in your locks.
