The window without which we would not have the cameras we take for granted today! This is the window at Lacock Abbey that Henry Fox Talbot used to take the first ever negative. The inspiration was the patternation in the windows picking up different lights and he wanted to know if the negative method would capture the detail. It did, and so the negative was born and the world of photography took a giant leap forward.
