Got myself an SV650S!!

Hi all,

Couldn't be happier right now! I have been riding a Hyosung GT125R since October when I did my CBT. Passed my full test last week, sold the 125 on Friday and bought and SV650S on Saturday (yesterday). Picking her up Friday and can't actually wait!! She's an 07 plate with just 3300 miles on the clock. Needless to say, mint condition :)

Completely standard as it stands, although I have some plans:
Exhaust (thinking pipe werx but can't decide whether to go for the carbon can or the titanium/burnt coloured one. So far I think I'll go for the titanium/coloured can but undecided)
Tail tidy (Not sure whether you can fit the universal ones to the SV so got to do some research)
Smaller number plate (what size do most people go for? 8x6? I believe 9x7 is standard?)
LED indicators
Seat cowl
Smoked double bubble screen
Crash protectors
Fenda extenda

That's most of it for now I think, I have a wanted thread up :)

Anyway... pics! These are from the dealer:

Nice, what did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Got myself an SV650S!!

It was up for £2999 (Just reduced from £3399 apparently), and I paid £2750, full year MOT but no tax.

Well done that man! A blank canvas to make your own. But make sure you remember to get out and ride ride ride.

Pipe, bought my missus a full carbon stubby Mivv system, sounds aweson and seriously improved the throttle response http://img.tapatalk.com/5c28fe8f-c613-caca.jpg

Shay.Kelsey 13-02-12 08:17 AM

Cost me £349 in 2010 for the full system not just the can, drilled the rivet on the baffle, what a sound

Shay.Kelsey 13-02-12 08:19 AM

We sold the bike, have: airblade dark smoked screen. Seat cowl. 33bhp ecu. Make me an offer if you want any. Screen was never fitted, cowl is mint (has the white racing stripe) in the same blue

That's the evotech tail tidy with an 8x6 plate so you have an idea what it will look like

I have just bought a seat cowl, however may be interested in the exhaust, double bubble screen and 33bhp ECU. Could you get me some pictures of these please?

Would the ECU fit my bike? I'm not sure whether it's 1 or 2 pin?

Pm me a mobile number mate

1st off, congrats on the bike, test and welcome to the forum!

I know that place as i test rode a bike there myself, good blokes and reasonable prices. You've got the same as me exept mine is on a 56 reg.

First thing I did was change to a Pipewerx exhaust. plain black can, sounds unreal at times! Highly recommended!

Evotech tail tidy i did myself in 2hrs. recently got clear lens covers for indys rather than mini led versions as can be seen better but still looks good in my eyes.

Just some helpful tips. :)

The two I narrowed it down to were Pipe werx and Blue flame. I ordered the blue flame in the end, carbon can with twin outlets :D can't wait to get the bike and get this fitted!

Also bought a seat cowl and two pairs of LED indicators. Tail tidy is next on the list but going to wait until I get the bike first :)

Got an evotech tail tidy on it's way (annoying, as I bought it new for £60, and the next day one came up on here second hand for £25!).

And I have lubed the chain now :)

Pyramid fenda extenda turned up in the post today too.

How strange SamN - you bought a lovely bike because it was standard, and now want to change it. Does this mean that, by your own buying standards, you are going to modify/devalue it?
Yep, I am an old fogey, but I would rather get out riding than modifying - other than federextendas etc

You've got to be kidding me?

I bought it standard as I wanted a clean slate to mod myself and make it my own. How boring would the world be if every vehicle was standard? I'm an enthusiast and like to do things my way :)

I always keep standard parts for my cars and bikes so that I can put them back to standard come resale, therefore not devaluing it.

You say you'd rather get out riding it... I ride it every day, doesn't take long to fit a few new parts every now and again does it, and it's the enjoyment of it all :)

Yes, you are right, it was a bit of a wind up! I struggled to find time to clean the bike, let alone modify it.

Cheers
