Yep enjoyed that :)

So far this series has been a big improvement IMO on the last series.

Very funny episode IMO

Hammond annoys me.

I thought it dull and predectable. And dull. And predictable.

He does play the bumbling fool a bit too much. Same with his Wipeout program. I bet he's the opposite of a fool in person.

Entertaining episode though. I even thought May's point about it being fun driving a crap car on the edge was true to an extent.

Eat a pizza then laugh for an hour and eat a box of pringles.

Re: Top gear

That car chase was just like the real thing!

Generally, I really enjoy TG. The idea that it has evolved from a car testing programme to an entertainment series is fine, but this one was a push too far.

The fakery of "we were asked to film a car chase" is soooooooo far off the idea of a real event that it became a bit... Insulting. A sense of stupidity for the sake of it.

Let's be honest.

It's become a "vehicle" for the presenters to be on TV. JC and the midget are media bitches, May is the anchor that holds them just within the bounds of sanity.

I wholeheartedly agree with May's assessment of the lurid, snot green Corsa versus the Panda. I'd have the Panda every day ( no job related pun intended ) for the very reasons he stated.

Overall gents, a very poor show.

Pete ;)

Oh, and I've had a great four evenings at work! Good, old fashiond policing. Say no more.

I've really enjoyed this series apart from tonight's. It was predictable and overly fake.
Still miles better than most of the programmes on tv though!

Top Gear has been unashamedly fake and pantomime for ages now, including all their crazy flying man/bmx biker/snowmobile etc. vs car style races, and 90% of the rest of the content. It's all staged pantomime for dramatic giggles, and scripted events. People who feel it's now too unbelievable, were either gullible before or are spoil sports now. There is nowhere for them to go except more extreme, otherwise we'd all be complaining it's dull.

I thought the car chase thing was hilarious. They make no attempt to portray it as even slightly real. It's just three blokes making a comedy car chase film, pretending they're being serious, while poking fun at all those unrealistic things we see in real car chase movies, with some top actors having a laugh at it too.

I'm glad May got his own programme, I want to team him up with Jon Bentley (another jolly nice man who answers his emails) from that awful gadget show and Jonny Smith from 5th gear to create a new show entirely. No idea what about, but it will be brilliant.

You mean like Atom V8 versus S1000RR?
The test was originally with the BSB spec bike and it was 2 seconds faster around the track

My thoughts exactly, you can buy a 2004 plate carrera 4 for that money.

I know which I'd rather be driving.

Top gear: The entertainment show which features some really nice cars and interesting interviews is brilliant.

Top Gear: The journalistic motoring show is none existant.

Re: Top gear

i just watched the atom V8 vs S1000RR.......

you cant actually do a race like that because i bet the guy actually driving the car was told to stay X amount of metres/feet from the biker for health and safety.

i would like to see more bikes on topgear though. A bit of "0-60mph in 4 seconds and it costs more than your house" should then be met by "0-60mph in 3 seconds and costs less than a caravan." i think it would suit hammond and may down to the ground anyway.

EDIT: i just realised how many times i have said actually. sorry. i hate nightshift work.
