My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

If I did things like that, the swearing would cause the down fall of society! My videos are never this informative! :D

haha. Thanks guys. Not met Jayne! Maybe our styles would mesh seamlessly. hehe.

Just thought I'd do it for my own amusement, and hopefully make a dull subject a bit more entertaining, in my own lazy and slightly offensive way. :D Apologies to anyone offended by colourful language.

Do it Clare! It's all good for a laugh. Don't take it seriously. Include all your mistakes. Edit out the really dull bits. Add some free Lounge style music for background stuff. Job done. :)

Haha. That's cool. Hopefully it did actually help you a bit. :)

Well, I've just got plugs and oil filter through the post, and I've never serviced a gixer before, so I think filming that might be entertaining. I have no idea what state it's in or what I'll find. :)

After that, if you attempt this before the weekend I fully expect to see the SV in Wales ;)

Yeah, the stupid bint. The imobiliser/alarm is wired up to the rear light and makes it blink. Runs a battery flat in 3 weeks. Had an optimate plugged into it ever since I killed my first battery.

Rubbish. I may just arrive running on 2 cylinders. Should still have the horsepower of the SV! :D

None of my stuff suited it mate, so Googled "free lounge music". Lounge music is perfect background stuff for this kind of thing, cos it's slow and boring. A bit like me! :D Not ridden it since either, so don't know if it's helped.

Re: My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

haha. Thanks mate! The only real gem to learn from that tutorial is not to undo the bolt/screw all the way. I only figured that out after I got the rubber jammed inside and then googled to find out what I'd done wrong. :D

I've been trying to find a shop that sells 'rubber thingamajobs' but all I keep finding is places that sell these. I'm not sure how one of these will help me with changing the bar ends on my bike though.

Re: My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

luck would have it that there is an easy way to remove the rubber bung if you do take the bolt all the way out. its called a spring puller or a bit of metal coat hanger with a hook bent at one end.

Re: My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

JayneFlakes has been really kind and posted me a random set of bar end rubber bung things that she has spare. That'll allow me to replace the knackered one on the other side, not seen in the vid.

@Bibio - I spent ages walking round the garage, trying different tools for the job. Didn't think to use a coat hanger. That might've been better. In the end I just gouged at it with an allan key, until it came out ripped to shreds. Lost patience! :D

I did a search for rubber and ended here.

My two pence: If your rubbers are a little too fat, try rubbing your rubbers a little at 45 degree intervals on some emery cloth, sandpaper, wet and dry or an olive skinned real mans stubble (about 9 hours growth) until they just fit inside the hole.

I was so hoping to hear 'and here's one I made earlier'

But good job dude!

Re: My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

I am the filming type. If I get inspiration, I will try and do something else. I considered filming myself making a massive vat of curry today (I make about 10-20 portions and freeze em all), but decided it wouldn't be that fun unless I severed a finger or ate a raw chilli. You'll be the first to know though! :P

.. how to get the girls. hahaha. Who the feck would I get to play the large array of damsels. May have to do something at AR13 when all the ladies are drunk. :D

Re: My Amazing Bar End Fitting Tutorial

I was going to film myself doing the caliper swap today si.. Don't think they do 1tb memory cards yet - 6 hours facking around getting new bleed nipples from suzuki, new finer thread banjo's from transit motorcycles in york, and then a massive swear fest whilst bleeding the system..

But bloody hell it doesn't half stop now.
