Selling my '99 Curvy due to needing the money and space. It has...

- 35000 miles on the clock
- New oil and filter
- Brand new rear Dunlop Roadsmart (~30 miles)
- Brand new spark plugs
- New DID chain and sprockets (~1000 miles on them)
- Hasn't been dropped by me or any previous owners as far as I can tell.
- Delkevic Stubby exhaust. Original also included.
- Relatively new brake pads all round.
- Full service history
- MOT until 22nd May 2013
- Replaced old R/R with MOSFET type when I bought it

TAX doesn't run out till the end of March but if I end up buying another bike before this has sold then I will have to SORN it.

Maybe too early in the year to sell it

One thing I'd do is polish the downpipe just to bring the sparkle back to the bike, as everything else looks fine, it really detracts the look of your bike in the pictures

Have been meaning to for a while but the cold, wet weather has put me off doing it.

Aye, I know the feeling

Half an hour with a scotbrite pad and so autosol should get it shiny enough to improve it.

Instant shine can almost be achieved using some Optiglanz

You can get it Couriered for 150 to 200

An orger did it from Northampton to Glasgow IIRC for £200

Re: '99 Curvy for sale - 35000 miles

Bike is in good condition but has been sat in the garage for a few months. I just want a decent weekend so I can get that down pipe polished. As mentioned in a previous post, it does take away from the look of the bike.

The front tyre has some life left but would probably need changing this year and the front tensioner had started ticking on and off but I already have a brand new sealed replacement that would just need fitting.

Ideally I need it sold soon as I need the space, it's taking up half of the space I have in the garage.

@quick_d mate if we can find 2 fairly close together perhaps we can share a ride up lol

@andrewsmith thanks, not trying to be too cheap, but at our end of the market that's up to 20% of the cost of the bike

@Dunn-y if we keep commenting on it hopefully it will help :)

I do agree willf. When your paying this much, getting a courier hardly seems worth it. I'm sure it will sell soon enough once the weather warms up. Got snow warnings again here so that don't help.

I am open to offers, but nothing stupid. May have to stick it up on eBay as had no interest yet. Don't think I have overpriced it.

Re: '99 Curvy for sale - 35000 miles

Yeah I can't imagine it won't sell quickly, just hold out for someone more local being in the market...

I haven't bought and sold a lot of bikes, but I'm guessing a lot of these go to DAS passers, and as spring approaches there should be more of those along.

I'm 11 months into a Carole Nash insurance policy which annoyingly I can't add a second bike to, so I can't actually ride anything away for another month.

I often see on AutoTrader trade ads saying deliver to anywhere in the country for £99, so it may be achievable for less.

Bump!

Still sitting in my garage.

Had an offer of 950 from someone on here which to be honest was a low ball offer.

I really need the space now that the decent weather is here and the SV is just in the way plus it should be ridden in this weather, not sat in a garage.

I think that's a more than reasonable offer for a bike with no tax and 1 months MOT! Its a buyers market at present and what bikes are advertised for and what they actually sell for are not necessarily the same figure
I sold a younger curvy with less miles and full MOT for less than £950.

Re: '99 Curvy for sale - 35000 miles

I had to cancel its TAX to avoid an £80 fine. As for the MOT, if I can get it to an MOT centre on a trailer or something then I will but at the moment I can't. If it's really just the MOT that's stopping it from selling then I'll try and get it done but there's nothing I can do about the TAX unfortunately.

The only reason I was offered £950 was because this person was going to get it couriered back to them and wanted me to reduce to price to pay for the courier. I wasn't going to do that when at the time I had a couple of people interested in it at the higher price of £1295.

If it doesn't sell on eBay at £1200 then I admit it must be either overpriced or the lack of TAX and MOT is putting people off. As said earlier I am going to see if I can get the MOT done but only if I can get it there on a trailer.

To be honest mate for the sake of the cost of an MOT and £42 for 6 months Tax you'd be better off investing it in the bike to get the price you want.
IF you really cant afford the Tax, as long as you are insured then you can ride the bike to and from a garage to a pre booked MOT without tax as long as it is insured
But if as you say it's too much hassle then you would probably have to accept a lower price.
This of course is only my opinion :)

I can't get tax as I am not insured on it anymore which is why it is a little more difficult to get these things done.
