Legal with the baffle in, sounds good, illegal with the baffle out, sounds brilliant. You do need to keep on top of them with regards to packing or the exhaust pulses destroy the carbon sleeve. Same happens to titanium ones if they are left too long between re-fills.

Delkevic 200mm on Pointy - legal?

I have a 225mm Delkevic on my curvey. A 200mm will be louder and mines most definitely not legal!

I've had carbon mufflers (Remus) on my RC-51 for 25,000 miles with no problems.
It's like Mr. wilson said. And keeping them well packed is good for performance too, as well as longevity.

Re: Delkevic 200mm on Pointy - legal?

Ok so even if it has a baffle it can still be illegal?

Re: Delkevic 200mm on Pointy - legal?

To comply properly it needs to meet construction and use regs.
so no.
and if you wind up the boys in blue they can slap a 60 note fine .
why not go 450mm have ya stamp and ride with the baffle out ?

Re: Delkevic 200mm on Pointy - legal?

I have the 350mm oval on mine, BSAU stamped, removable baffle, but as far as mot is concerned it's now up to the testers discretion whether its too loud or not, no stamp required. Boys in blue might see things differently but if you don't drive like a fanny in built up areas you're less likely to get spoken to. Same as everything really, if you want a trouble free time then leave everything standard. Aye, right!
