seadoo rxp 215
so we have just brought the jetski and are picking it up friday in time for the weekend, does anybody have any experience of one of these? i have no idea what they are like on fuel or how quick it is, called the bloke and he reckons it'll do 70mph but that seems a bit fast across the water, if any of you are in poole on saturday be sure to message me and pop down for a burn on it though :)

This vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feK1stsNsic
Shows one doing 69 flat out but dunno if that's knots or mph. If its knots then its nearer 80mph |

Re: seadoo rxp 215
Whatever you do ALWAYS make sure you are wearing the kill switch corde!!
I have grown up using many water power related machines (boats, jet skis, T850 series etc etc) and you have to bare in mind that 40knots in the water is a lot if you come off it!! It will be almost like hitting something solid and it will hurt! If you carry passengers make sure they also wear a lifejacket and by that I mean a proper one that will keep them floating if they are knocked out by a fall. You will be able to ringo and waterski easily with this one. Make sure you wash it with tap water after use as salt will eat rubbers, impelers etc. Have fun and stay safe! Like bikes they can be leathal!! :) |
Re: seadoo rxp 215
yeah have already got some new life jackets at £80 each so cant be that poo, will definately make sure i'll wear the cord too :) have used a stand up one before but never a sit down, could be a laugh

And make sure you know what the "divers" flag looks like. I know people who've had near misses with muppets with more money than sense on these things. Don't be one of the c*cks.

Re: seadoo rxp 215

Re: seadoo rxp 215
I love jet bikes, I've hired many of them over the years from a small Yamaha when they first came out to a 130hp three seater seadoo, that thing done about 50mph and it felt twice as quick, 50mph on the sea is quick, scary at times tbh, ace though.
Wish I lived closer, I'd pop down :) |
Re: seadoo rxp 215
Is it a jetski or jetbike?
You sit on bike and it stays upright when you stop You stand on ski and need speed to keep upright. If it is the latter, I suggest that you get a 'shorty wetsuit' You need to get speed up (while being dragged along) and then stand up (on the move) Easy when you get the knack but with swimming shorts/trunks they will be down at your ankles (or off completely) when you stand up. NB using in the sea you will need to flush the impellor with fresh water before putting away - the salt will damage it. There will be a nozzle to attach a hose to flush. Our son was exceptional - he did submarines - dive into a wave and come flying out the other side. On holiday in Gran Canaria - the beach totty loved him - Thats ma boy SMcG in sunny Glasgow |
