So which is more exciting?

The Queen is coming to Lord's next Thursday and I have just been setting up all the filming and
photography arrangements... and she's the head of state and all, and I'm a
big fan of her work.. but but but...

HUGH JACKMAN is also coming to the Test. With all his Wolverine muscles. :smt007:smt007:smt007

He doesn't sit in a posh hospitality box either, just buys a ticket, and an M&S picnic and drinks beers with a few friends.

So if he agrees to come up to the media centre I get to take his photo, but I must try to remember not to drool too much.

Personally, if he's there on a day off acting normally, I think he should be treated as such and left alone. Maybe a "Hi Hugh" if you see him and a cheery wave.
If he's uncomfortable he'll never come back.

Re: So which is more exciting?

Oh it's all done through his agent. We don't allow Sky and TMS to doorstep people unless we already know them. Damian Lewis and Michael Palin were both very happy to do TMS during New Zealand. In fact DL was enjoying it so much he stayed up there with me for lunch so he could meet Botham. Mr Jackman has arranged the Wolverine publicity tour to be done in the 3 days prior to the match so he can be in London.

The Queen, because she's the Queen.
You can't really get any more famous.

Agreed :)

Huge assman as I call him is a cool guy granted, but the queen rules (literally), I'd rather have a chat with Damian Lewis tbh.

think i would rather sit and get drunk with Hugh. what would score more brownie points in the pub.. i met the queen or i got drunk with Hugh Jackman.

now if i could sit and get drunk with the queen that would be a giggle.

Easy, get the Queen a G&T and all of you sit down and watch the cricket.

Jackman could get a few more M&S meals to feed everyone ;)

Just showed the wife this, Lph, she asked if you need anyone to assist if you meet him.

Can't see the fascination myself, give me an ol' queen anyday.

The Queen.

Think of it this way.

10 years from now you'll tell someone you met Hugh Jackman instead of the Queen.

You know, Hugh Jackman.
The actor who played Wolverine.
Handsome guy, funny hair.

And they'll just smile and give you that 'Ok, she's a complete nutter' look.

30 years from now you'll tell someone you met the fellow who played Wolverine instead of the Queen

and small children will come up to you and whisper in your ear, "You shouldn't say that. People think you're crazy."

OK that and we're counting on you for some exclusive pics of the Queen! ;)

Re: So which is more exciting?

I can see where you're coming from, makes sense to go with Queenie but then it is Hugh bloody Jackman, hubba hubba #swoon#! In all seriousness though, who are you more likely to get another opportunity to photograph?

Oh yeah btw, PISH ORF WITH YOUR JAMMY JOB PERKS AND RUBBING THEM IN OUR LOWLY FACES PEAHEAD!

P.S. Room for an ickle one?

Re: So which is more exciting?

Lph, you have a problem:
Neither will get in due to the Dress Code, he for lack of shirt and dodgy hair, She because of wearing a metal hat which covers more dodgy hair.
You could of course have BOTH, but if/when they click, you'd feel a bit of a gooseberry, and I dont suppose you want that either.
Anyway, Best of Luck

every year when i was younger my mother (due to working in the city chambers) was invited to the Hollyrood Garden Party but we never attended.

Re: So which is more exciting?

Yeah it is a bit cheeky, this is the third or fourth time I've sorted out all the arrangements to get Her Maj into Lord's to a sell out game and do I ever get a return invite to the garden party at her gaff? Do I heck.

If it makes you feel any better MissyB, next week I will work days of between 12 and 14 hours for 12 days straight, still with a 2 hour commute at each end and I won't even get to watch the cricket. On the plus side, I do get to photograph Michael Palin on Monday morning.

Picnics, takes care of his body, has an odd hair style...

Re: So which is more exciting?

The verdict... well the Queen arrived ten minutes late which caused a few issues but she is a fantastic woman and has the most beautiful blue eyes with a real twinkle in them.

Hugh couldn't get to Lord's until 5pm due to media commitments for Wolverine so we sneaked him into the President's box. He was friendly, and despite us being told by his agent strictly no media he doubled up with Russell Crowe to do an interview for Lord's which he said will get him in trouble. And he let me take photos of him for MCC. Oh and I may just have sneaked a little feel of the six pack. Proof in the photo a day thread. Swoon.
