Scorpion can - baffles or not?
So folks, just got my extreme zaust. My baffles are really tight but hey ho. Do you guys who run after market zausts run with or without the baffles. Just a little curious. Cheers all.

Scorpion
Sounds a hell of a lot better without them in

Scorpion
So bloomin loud. Lol.
|
Scorpion
Does it make any other difference as in mixture.
|
Scorpion
Nope from what I know it only muffles the sound (like putting your hand over a speaker)

Scorpion
Cheers.

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
I run without it in my fuel can, sounds pretty loud. I believe a baffle will change the mixture, but only marginally. Its the end can itself that changes most of a zoorst characteristic so im told

Loud exhaust saves life
I have stubby Scorpion exhaust and love the sound of it without the baffle and it is not that loud IMO. |
Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
without baffle, it blew out ;-) no, it actually did

Scorpion can - baffles or not?
Cheers guys. Nice to get a few opinions.

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
On a Fuel Injected bike it won't and the system will just add more fuel into the system. Carb'ed it'll run lean, unless rejetted to suit

Scorpion can - baffles or not?
When I fitted my new scorpion exhaust I had planned to stay as legal as I could and was gonna keep the baffle in. But curiosity made me want to hear it with it out! Took me the whole of 5 second to decide it was worth the risk! Defo baffle out. Sounds much sweeter! And I actually think it might still be legal. Guess ill find out when she goes in for her MOT! :)
I am so proud of her when we're pulling away from traffic lights etc :) |
Scorpion can - baffles or not?
Cheers Andy. Nice to know.
Yeah looks like baffle is staying on the bench. Lol |
Scorpion can - baffles or not?
It took a lot of wd40 and man handling to get my baffles out (seized in) and after all of that, they shall not be going back in! :)

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
My bikes just wayyyy too loud without a baffle installed lol so for my daily commute i leave it in and on the weekend when my inner child comes out to play the baffle suddenly disappears ... its like magic!

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
out.... always out! regardless of how loud it is with them in!!! that's what ear plug are for ;)

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
The last two nights I've come home on my baffleless Tiger 1050 at 3am and let me tell you, you kind of wish you had 'em in when that happens! It's a case of getting into 4th gear by about 15mph, and then pulling the clutch in and coasting towards the drive, popping it into neutral before you hit the drive and engine off before you even come to a halt!
I think a bit of baffle action would make these late night homecomings a little less stressful! :) |
Scorpion can - baffles or not?
Very true! I have to coast down my road at night! Haha

Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
great waking the neighbours up lol.
|
Re: Scorpion can - baffles or not?
My Scorpion was too loud for me with baffle out so I just took off the baffle end plate and it's made a nice compromise between the two extremes.

Scorpion can - baffles or not?
I'm quite lucky having two ports, one small and one big so I can vary the noise
