New lid--Flip front

I have bee looking around for a new Schuberth and the best price I can find is in excess of £480. As an alternative I went into BMW and they have the C6 for £315.
Does anybody have a C6 and is it quiet, also how much different are they from the similar Schuberth? £165 is a lot of money for what seems very very similar lids.

Thanks

Pennies spent----feels comfy but not a proper long ride test yet

Regarding price of the BMW System 6 £315:99 from BMW with 24 month guarantee.
Selling off this model at the reduced price due to it being replaced by System 6 EVO which is nearly£500 so any stock they have will go quickly-----big price drop on the original price.

BMW riders must be rich looking at the other stuff in the shop.

I use system 6 at work. I find it quite noisy at speed, a bit snug but has a very good internal visor.

Wouldn't buy one with my own money!!

All helmets vary from rider to rider depending on type of screen on the bike/naked and riders seating position. It is all to do with the airflow over and around the helmet. My old BMW helmet is great with a touring screen but my AGV is better if I have the normal screen on the Sprint
Being perfectly honest budget has a lot to do with the latest choice and if the worst comes to the worst I can still use earplugs
Helmet manufacturers are constantly modifying ,hopefully for the better, but a lot is down to individual preference

I might have been a tad harsh. I have a Shoei head and always have had them privately. Work its a choice between a naff Caberg which I wouldn't let my dog wear or the system 6 which in comparison is an amazing lid.

Hope with your setup it will do you well.

I completely agree with this. One helmet can be the quietest thing since silence to one person, but really noisy to another. Helmets all very personal and individual, which is why I think you always need to try one on before you buy.

Possibly an unfair appraisal but as I no longer do [or can achieve] speeds above the national speed limits[68mph max] since selling the Triumph. I am no longer finding the need for earplugs. Perhaps because I have no wind deflection from a screen now but the BMW[Schuberth] is one of the quietest lids I have had. Regarding comfort, it is taking a bit of time to break in but definitely a lot better than when it was new, about 80% at the moment but it is either changing the shape of my head :D:D or getting softer. For £300 I am pleased and some dealers have them even cheaper but as I want to try for size before I buy I bought it from my local BMW dealer rather than send for one from the internet therefore cost a few quid more.[£10-20]
Snug fitting, easy to undo the chin strap,anti-mist pinlock standard, removable linings for washing, easy action sun visor and should you want it they also do a blue-tooth kit for this helmet.

Thanks. Just wanted to check it is worth the time and effort to go to the nearest BMW dealer in Sunderland.

regarding the head shape and size..mine still has a snug fit and needed some minor arrangement of pads. I think its comes up small for the listed size ( more pressure on the forehead) . I have a bmw sport which fitted like a glove in the same size so certainly a slight change in the fitting shape. Visor ratchet mechanism is a bit clonky and doesnt stay firm when on the move. I still like it but take the compromise for a flip lid in yellow
