Am I right in saying this will only fit a K3? And not the later Pointys?

You are correct, it will fit a k3 sv650 and sv1000 but I think the seats were slightly altered for the k4+ models (probably coz the k3 seats were so uncomfortable lol)

Just to clarify its an aftermarket comfort seat made by a US company called Corbin which is supposed to be much more comfortable than the OEM gel seat and cost me £235 and a two month wait

I guess there is not many K3's and for a bike now 11 years old, is it worth spending £100 quid on a seat?

If I had the cash I would but my bike needs other serious stuff fixed so comfort is not a prority right now.

if i had the money i would buy it probably end up taking mine to an upholsterer and getting it repadded when i have some more cash

You're right about the K3 seat, it is NOT comfy. I don't know if a new seat is top of my list though, I new to BIG and SV's and I need luggage first.
