Which exhaust? K8.

Hi guys. Was wondering if you could help me find a good exhaust for my k8. Whats the best exhaust in your opinion that wont break the bank too much? Been looking at delkevic, but heard mixed things! Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Andy!

I've got a Beowulf Warrior. It suits the pointy shape, is made well and sounds lovely.

+1 for this, had the can on my k9. The tri-oval shape really does suit the pointy. Although just consider your riding if you go for the Matt black as I did. Due to all year every day use the paint suffered from chips etc.

I now have a fuel micro mini in brushed stainless on my L0, again looks nice and the sound is good too. Added bonus with the fuel cans is the org discount if it is continuing this year.

Ok thank you very much. I do ride day in, day out so the winter is an issue for me. Is there any point going for scorpion cans and the other mainstream brands or is it a case of paying for the name?

Personal preference and budget really. I have seen an sv with a really nice looking and sounding akropovic but think it was at least a hundred more if not more than the fuel.

You will also pay for the finish, basic stainless will be cheapest then go up from there.

You can get the warrior in stainless and I think they still do a lifetime warranty

Thanks for your input on the matter!

If you want to make people riding behind you deaf then go for the Dan Moto carbon GP. Or any of the Beowulf cans. Nice low tone sound sweet as a nut

Someone's insurance bought me a Scorpion Red Parallel Serkut in carbon fibre.
Gives me a headache with the baffle out. Pops nicely on the over run (but not too loudly) with it in. Still makes me smile on the commute every morning.

Re: Which exhaust? K8.

I was looking at the serket as they had one in my local bike shop. But thats what made me wonder wether it was a case of the name bumping the price up or if it really was that good. My only preference is, id like it to be legal. I dont want to give the local fuzz an excuse!

Price wasn't my worry. I wasn't paying AND the alternative was an OEM at £1,400.
I had an ART on a curvy that was much harsher sounding and didn't have the subtle popping and fruitiness of the Scorpion.
The carbon Scorpion cans are very light - about 2kg compared with the OEM 4kg+

Standard rocket launcher to Fuel maxi stainless. Been mentioned on here to avoid carbons on a v-twin.

I had the scorpion and really liked it on the pointy. Very light and made a great sound. Nice and legal too with the removable baffle.

Prior to fitting the Scorpion my pointy had a Blueflame evo stainless. Lovely sound and quality but I felt the Scorpion looked better :)

I've heard that one too but I had one on my pointy for a couple of years and absolutely no problems whatsoever. I even mentioned it to scorpion who said they'd replace old for new under their warranty.

To be honest I've not actually heard first hand of anyone suffering problems directly attributed to a v-twin motor with a reputable branded carbon exhaust.

I had heard of the vtwin carbon issue. All I could find was stories of exhausts that long needed repacking. Choose the make carefully and choose one that doesn't need repacking was my thought.

Only get it if you really think it's a good idea. I've got this and also the Beowulf. Yes the danmoto does sound nice but is very very loud so loud that people don't like riding behind me cos of the noise. These also look the nuts on the bike too. Build quality is surprisingly good. springs are very good and strong. Not going to break anytime soon. And for around £100 delivered can't go wrong. I bought there rear sets which are fully adjustable so comfy for me but those who have ridden my bike think it's no so comfy.

Seeing a lot of very expensive exhausts on here. I have a DanMoto carbon exhaust. It sounds great, looks great, saves weight, fits to the existing hanger with no modding needed, it's well made and is much cheaper than many other similar exhausts.

You can see it here ...

To see it fitted take a look at my avatar or go to my profile page where there is an album with pics in it.

Got a scorpion serket in titanium w/carbon tip, bit pricey but I'm v happy with it! If you're looking for loud though I'd look elsewhere, even with the baffle out it's pretty tame but it still sounds really nice.

What is this "not needing repacking" thing? Think they'll all blow it out eventually
