Hi Mate,

I've been looking at getting these, what sort of riding are you doing with them? I've never worn leathers before, using RST textile stuff at the moment but going to do a few track days soon.

Can you compare them to previous leathers you've had?

Any info appreciated,

Cheers,

Colm.

I've had the trousers for couple weeks, they are brilliant very comfortable and well made so I ordered the jacket yesterday!

I've got the jeans... They're very comfortable, fit well and are really well ventilated. I was using RST textiles but these are so much better in warm to hot weather. I haven't been out when it's been really cold though, so can't comment on that.

I went for the pro-series cpx-c jacket, I prefer the style and the fact it too has good ventilation. More expensive than the trac-tech evo, but worth it in my mind.

I've had two sets of RST textiles and now this set of leathers and I really can't fault them.

Cheers lads,

Appreciate the replies. How is the CPX Jacket in length if wearing with a pair of Kevlar jeans? I live in quite a toasty environment so ventilation is key for me!

Re: Deal: New RST Tractech Evo Leathers

It's perfectly fine with Kevlar jeans. I've also got a pair of those for when I'm doing very short journeys in hot weather.

I've found the ventilation amazing. It's still warm obviously, as you're wearing a leather jacket in sunshine while mounting an engine! But it has perforated sections on the front, arms and back that really do work.

I found it fits me well too. I tried a load of jackets on, from differet brands, and a lot of them were either too tight in places or too baggy. I found this one feels a bit more tailored/fitted than some others. Try it on first though, as we're all different shapes.

I did also like a set from Alpinestars that fit me very well. But the trousers were £50 more, as was the jacket, and it didn't have a back protector so that's another £100. So it would have cost an extra £200 over the RST.

I was initially going to get the cpx-pro jacket but when I tried it on in store a while back it did fit differently to the Evo jacket. Evo felt more comfortable overall so I didn't argue with the cheaper price point.

The inner liner on the CPX jacket looked better and it had a few upgraded features but it will come down to which one feels better when on.

As for the trousers they are very warm in the cold the main ventilation is on the inside of the leg and in the warm manages to leak though a good amount of fresh air. Stops you getting sweaty... Thighs.

Oh my main use is commuting. I change when I get to work. Easy enought to wip on and off.

I've got the same set, had mine for about 6 months and I cant fault them at all, well made and much more cost affective then alpine!!

Im going to find a retailer with the textile jackets as you can zip them to the leather jeans

Great info cheers,

One more question if I may, sorry to be harping on, is there any info about RST stuff regarding how it holds up if God forbid you have a slide on the track/road?

Thanks again.

Re: Deal: New RST Tractech Evo Leathers

Never looked into how it would fare in a slide. All I know is its good thick leather and after general use for a few months shows virtually know sign of wear, cleans up great. I don't imagine it would sell very well if it was scrappable after an accident.

You know what its like you wont always find much info on the good wear tests unless someone decides to go out of there way with the right knowledge and tools to record things properly, but as soon as one person has a problem with something wearing or not holding up there will be a 1* review out there somewhere (of which I have yet to find)

Re: Deal: New RST Tractech Evo Leathers

True enough, I see some of the road racers wear them so if they're good enough for those boys! I have a pair of RST gloves and the stitching ripped very shortly after I bought them with not a huge amount of use, same happened to a mate so that's why I asked.

Cheers,

Colm.
