Men & Motors announced a few months ago they were dropping bike shows on their forum, they then dropped the forum as well.
Bloody shame. |
I work for Manchester United TV as a cameraman and our camera room is next door to the ex-M&M camera room down here at Granada. They have stopped producing programmes and laid all the staff off. They hung up there camera's and headed for the door on 29th April this year. At the minute there are no plans to start producing shows again, they are keeping the channel on but showing 'bought in' shows, repeats and anything else that fills the viewing slots.. shame....
|
they have also just been put on free view. i was very happy when i heard that, but not if there arnt going to be any bikes shows on it. whats the point?
boohoo sucks to u M&M. |
shame...was one of the better channels too.

men and motors annouced a while ago that they wouldnt be producing any more bike progarammes, now i understand they arent making programmes of any genre, i understand that they were intending to show more cars progs and mens lifestyle to try and become the max power of tv, they had good bike shows too, surely there must have been a market for them.
|
well there sure as hell isnt a market for the sweeny!
|
You can expect a lot more bike-related programming on Discovery over the summer plus the possibility of getting the Teutals' bikes bought over for some roadshows around the UK.

On the plus side, they do occasionly show Carmen Electra's Naked Women Wrestling League (NWWL), so can't be too harsh on them! Genius :D

Just to add my support and comments as well:
Yes I started to notice the lack of biking shows as well several weeks back. All they show now are the same old car-crash programs over and over and over an over......... EVERY time I put M+M on to see if there's any good biking programs on, guess what's on.... car-crash! YAWN :( |
its number..... erm, lemme go check:)
38. |
I'm sure MCN already covered this :? . I defiantly read somewhere that M&M was becoming ITV4 and was dropping it's bike programs as they draw a tenth of the viewers of a repeat of Last of the Summer Wine or something like that.
|
Yes - we covered it on 2onT a few months ago too.
The thing is - they get about 50,000 viwers for Top Ten bikes, or DR Rods surgery, or Pit Stop babes, ( or whatever other lame ideas they had), or they get 350,000 viewers for the Sweeney - so its obvious what s gonna happen. They arent dropping bikes, they are just not commissioning any new stuff... They have had some good progs - born to ride and scratchin' were both exceelent at times, but it is v patchy ...but i remember when i first got Sky, i was well impressed to see a channel showing and reveiwing bikes... |
