Carrying a Spare Visor
Just got a new dark visor to go with my new HJC Lordship lid :viking: and it does not fit in the visor pouch of my Oxford bum bag. It is deeper than my old Arai visor.
So how do folks carry a spare visor out and about? I have seen the specific visor bags but that would mean carrying two things round my waist. Any suggestions / tips for carrying a spare visor? |
Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
You don't really have a choice, I don't ride without carrying a clear visor as it limits when you have to return, also the old bill generally are fine with dark visors if you have a clear with you.
the carryng issue, well, you could fit the visor in a soft helmet bag and around the contour of your body inside your jacket, or a tank bag. I'm not keen on "bum bags" as you tend to end up carrying hard stuff in them which can be a bit nasty in an accident (bit like backpacks) a visor carrier is my choice and everything else goes in a tankbag or tail pack, but each to their own. Cheers Mark. |
Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
yeah well, the bum bag is a useful thing. Hardest thing in it is my phone and I take the point. I use it to carry cash / wallet / basic first aid kit / any bits of shopping I pick up on way home.
looks like a visor bag is the only way forward, so any one got a recommendation? |

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
on my sv i used to be able to tuck the visor pouch between the screen and the clocks, now i put it round under my ribs, i wouldnt put it round your back , unless your small, itll flaten the visor out and maybe break it.....

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
as for a spare visor i wear shades under my crash helmet saves the hastle of carring a spare.

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
ive never got on with wearing shades under the helmet, restricts my side vision too much, depends on your sunnies though i suppose.

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
Try an old sock.. You know, like a football sock, and stick it under the back seat..

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
pretty sure there ain't room for a visor under the curvy pillion seat. In the 'blades 'boot' maybe, although not sure current 'blade has same capacity as older models?

Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
i've got a medium tint visor for my shoei xr-1000 and i don't carry my clear one round :O
i've only had a it on for a little while though. but when it's on it barely darkens the view so i thought it would be unlikely i'd need it - but now i'm wondering if i should carry my clear for "protection"!! (i got a free visor bag with it :D ) |
Re: Carrying a Spare Visor
I have a "soft" pair of Ray ban wrap-arounds that I wear under my XR1000...quite comfy. My oakleys are just way too hard to stick between me noggin and the lid:smt087
