Need New Tyres - Get £40 back...

Any of you need new tyres. Pirelli are doing an offer on Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's at the moment, whereby if you have a set fitted, you get £40 back off your purchase price.

I've got a set on my GSXR I'm really pleased with them.

Any idea on mileage from those tyres?

I'm still on my first set, I've done about 1000 miles on the rear and it looks like new still.

I had a quick look round on the GSXR forum I use and looks like they are still to new for anybody to have worn a set out yet though.

Cheers Fizz, I got a voucher out of Performance Bike magazine but lost it so thanks for posting the link! I was thinking of changing the ContiSports for something a bit nicer over summer and sticking them back on for autumn. So, you rate the Pirellis? Did you ever use the original Diablo - much difference?

Re: Need New Tyres - Get £40 back...

I've never tried the orginal diablo so I dont know how they compare.

I've had 014's, 2CT's and Diablo III on the GSXR.

I hated the 014

I liked the 2CT, so far I find the Corsa III's superior the 2CT, they are a little more confidence inspiring, they give a bit more feedback and they heat faster on a cold day, they also work better in the wet to.

IMHO of course.

I've not tried the Corsa III but have been pretty happy with the standard Diablo on the gixer. The first rear lasted about 2.6K (maybe would have made 3K but profile was poo), that was a good 1K better than the BT014 that was on it before. The new one seems to be wearing a little better after 1.1K and still looks good. I'm sure others will get better miles than I do as I never got a lot out of my SV tyres (3.5 - 4K per rear)

I would guess that the Corsa III will keep its profile better but overall life (with me on my bike) would probably be the same.

Getting a set of corsa IIIs fitted this weekend, my OEM BT014 has done nearly 3k miles but the rear centre has been shagged the last 600 miles and I don't think the front won't last another trackday.

Is there a link for this or do you get the discount/coupon when you buy the tyres?

Click the link in my first post in this thread, and then you then need to click a link on that page to get the PDF that you'll need to print off, fill out and send off to Pirelli, you dont get the discount when you buy the tyres, you have to fill out the form

This is a direct link to the PDF saves you going through the pirelli website

Great post. Already forwarded to someone I know needing new tyres. I might accidentally wear mine out by the end of July now too :-)

You need to leave 2mm on your old tyres to get the deal? What is that all about?

I'd like to think it's them being socially responsible. But I think its more likely to be a sort of legal disclaimer.

How would they check that?

If it's fitted by a reputable tyre place, they'll have a tyre depth gauge.

No idea why they're so insistant though.

I think its meant to be you fill that in yourself - why would you say otherwise - and if I lied (ahem) not that i would.... because I have 2mm on the sides.

Could be wrong here...but i dont think the Corsa111 comes in a 160 size. Just before any SV owners get all excited.

I've also realised that these probably aren't the sort of tyres I want (need) on any bike I ride, not least because they are £40 more than the alternatives in the first place.

I think after the "moments" I had in France I am willing to try something a bit stickier on the Daytona and these seem like as good an option as any.

You have to declare it but they don't check. Must be something to

Just ordered a pair to get put on Saturday, £230 fitted so that will be £190 when I get cash back, about the same as the ContiSports (fitted) I got on which quite frankly are only OK (I've done about 800 miles and will keep them for Autumn to Spring riding). The local suzuki dealer wanted £305  righto

Again, nice post Fizz :p
