Oh, and it hasn't got a Harley engine it... (hint there)

It's a Benelli (or possibly another Italian bike that's not Ducati). Think its on front cover of MCN this week

Oi, it's my quiz, so I get to choose the winner! Ok, Sarah wins ;)

Now, I don't go for 'sports' bikes as a rule, but that floats my boat.

The price is quoted at $12 grand. At the present exchange rate that's about £6K. Wonder if it's small enough to go in a holdall and bring it in as hand luggage. Might get away without paying any duty then.

Not sure about the looks but it's gotta fly with that power to weight ratio.

£6K? Only in our dreams! This is "Treasure Island" we live on, after all. If there was a sweepstake for pricing, I'd go for £9.5K. Marketing people really have their heads up their a*ses in this country, particularly motor industry types. All in my humble opinion, of course.

Compared to the MV I saw earlier today that's almost giving it away; this vision in carbon and trick bits is sitting in NLM with a price tag of £70000:00:-s

It look lovely but would you dare ride it at that price? My first house was about that price.

fancy a front wheel stand? Talk about brakes! Disks are nearly the same size as the rims, stop on a 10p

I mean they've just thought of everything that is unless there are others like that (brakes wise) probably are just never seens that great idea for getting the most out of breaking.

Re: Blimey! New V-twin quiz

That is a very beautiful and very fast bike.

gettin2dizzy 14-07-07 11:36 PM

Re: Blimey! New V-twin quiz

They've had those brakes a while. Basic principal behind them is that because they're rim mounted- the force acting on the disk during braking is transmitted directly to the rim of the wheel - whereas conventional brake discs transmit the force through the spokes to the rim. This means that the spokes need only support the weight of the bike, so they can be made smaller. These reductions in weight of the wheel make a massive difference in terms of handling!

...Its an 8 pot caliper too!

Re: Blimey! New V-twin quiz

I like the design of it- the face is a bit like a squished down ANGRY curvy.

But- yeah, exchange rates don't really mean owt here-

"treasure Isle"?

Treasury Isle more like. Eeeeverything US made costs loads more over here- same from just about everywhere, come to think of it. Aren't most Fender and Gibson guitars about half the price in the States than over here?

It's cos we've got tax upon tax upon tax.

kwak zzr 15-07-07 09:15 AM

Re: Blimey! New V-twin quiz

the rim mount disk is a good idea and it does look trick but the sv1000s stops faster than the buell from 60-0 and 100-0, this new 8 pot caliper should do the trick.
