who says cars can't filter
some of you may remember me posting a while ago posting about some clown in a black celica who's driving is so bad he nearly kills people, well.......... today i managed to get his plate
anyhow the problem is he nearly got me killed this morning as i chose to take the bike instead of the cage to work, i pulled out behind him near my house and was behind him for a little while (which is how i got his plate) and he was actually driving safely apart from tail gating the car in front, UNTIL! (for those that know the area) as you go past the white swan pub then over the river into Mansbridge there is a set of lights, this is where things went bad, the lights where red and before he could see the lights he chose to pull out into the turning right lane to filter (with out stopping/slowing or even looking), YES FILTER! IN A CAR!! i new he was trying to filter because he works round the corner from me and doesn't turn right there, i started to filter, as we came up to the lights they went green he stopped in the middle of the junction and indicated left to turn back in as there was a traffic island in front of him and traffic all alone there, i then had to swerve out his way, as i went passed his car i looked in through his window and shouted a hell of alot of abuse, but he wasn't looking of hearing me, as i went passed him the mondeo in front of him (brown blob) pulled out to stop him getting in, good i thought only problem was i was along side him, i gave it so much beenz to get away i span the back wheel the whole way round the corner, bike was sideways a bit. KEY blue line - me on my bike black line - the PR*CK yellow bit on my line - where i span round the corner http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ino5/route.jpg now im just wondering how i should report him, to go down the police station and report him in person or do it over the phone, either way i want them to do something about it:smt097 i have come to the conclusion that he is either mentally unstable or on drugs as his driving is so incredibly dangerous |
Re: who says cars can't filter
Wouldn't have thought the Police will be interested unless a crime has been commited.
BTW great drawing skills you have :-) |

Re: who says cars can't filter
No room between the two sets of cars then?
You would of been screwed if it was his day off and he was turning right. :) |

Re: who says cars can't filter
You could report him but as an accuser he'd be entitled for your details and address. I'd rather not let road freaks get mine. It's always the stumbling block in reporting yobs etc.

;) you could anonymously shop him for drink driving, if the police are on the look out for a black celica driving erratically down X street they ight see him being a ****** for themselves... |

Re: who says cars can't filter
Just go down the local cop shop and ask them to keep a look out for this person and give them the number of his car and the details of the car.
You dont have to give your name and address I think, and I suspect you'll get a better response if you go face to face rather than via the telephone. If you dont bother to report it, how are you going to feel when this moron does eventually take out another biker or cyclist, next time maybe he'll take you out and then you'll kick yourself for not doing anything about it. Personally I'd just keep out of his way, Especially if you know he has a habit of pulling dodgy stuff, why didnt you leave more room so that you had more time to stop instead of putting yourself into a dangerous position like you appear to have done... rule one on a bike, always expect the unexpected... I had somebody pretty much attempt to run me off the road twice today when I was on my pushbike, I ride pretty defensively and if I hadnt been he would have put me in the curb, the only reason he didnt was that I'd clocked what he was up to and gave myself plenty of room to avoid his idiotic driving.. same thing on two wheels be defensive.. |
Re: who says cars can't filter
There is no way in this world he will get your home address. All of your personal details are restricted. For Police and CPS eyes only.

Dont think thats the case... and any way, surley he could equally follow the same biek everday as you do the car if he really wanted to know where you lived. Call the police and report a dangerous driver, you need a whitness and then fill in the form they send you, they then have to investigate it.. and if they dont want to do anything, keep hassling them.... again and again and again. Cheers Alex |
Re: who says cars can't filter
I can understand why so many people are cynical about the police response but they really aren't as bad as that.
Like I posted before, go into a station and ask to chat to a traffic officer. Explain your concerns and they will make an effort to do something; they do want to nail people like this. |
Re: who says cars can't filter
It's just the law being fair, you wouldn't like it if you got taken to court and your defence couldn't know who was accusing you? They won't know from a tip off obviously but that won't get him prosecuted for anything.
I know someone who went to court after being attacked by yobs and went a bit pale when he was asked to confirm HIS name and address, he had no idea that would happen. Maybe someone in the know could confirm either way.. |
Re: who says cars can't filter
To add to the last, I was five years in a control room...
There was this complete jerk who appeared near where I live driving like an idiot all of the time. One day I passed the details to a crew just about to go out on patrol, within 1/2 hour they'd spotted him and pulled him. The best was, he was wanted on warrant, wanted for questioning about a burglary on our area, and wanted by another police force for questioning. Never saw him again - Good result! :winner: |
Re: who says cars can't filter
I once reported a car for overtaking on a blind corner at well over the speed limit, police said there is nothing they can really do without evidence - video etc, or the police actaully seeing it. The police were nice and i can see there point members of the public can't just report stuff and expect the police to make arrests.
They took my details and said that if there were more complaints or the police saw the person in question then what me and my friend saw could be used as evidence. |
