paddock stands
just got a paddock stand today so i can do me chain easier-- maybe shudda got a scottoiler!!
anyway - wot a pain !!. it is the type with the cups to sit under the swinging arm. where should I site them- right at the back?? when I do then the sprocket bolts hit the cup? further down and the brake pipe gets in the way .. my bike has bobbins onalready so wud it b best to get a bobbin kit and use those? |
Hi iv got a paddock stand to, and i found the best place to fit it is just by the brake pipe. Even though it looks like its hitting the brake pipe it dosent. It will just push the brake pipe away slightly but the pipe should have plently of slack to go around.

Fiddly things aren't they? I got fed up playing with mine and got an Abba as well. I was always tangling the stand with the chain and torque arm...

Hi,
Is it the micron padock stand? Invest in the 'bobbin' kit. Makes things a lot easier/more secure. If you do invest in a bobbin kit here's a top tip: find a piece of hose pipe or plastic conduit to set the spacing for the 'hooks' you will see what I mean if you get the kit. HTH |

Once you've done it a couple of times you'll get the idea. Without a doubt, bobbins have to be easier. . |
Hooks & bobbins, one handed operation.

Although not paddock stand chat, maybe the readers of an ilk will help.

2. not as weel as a chain 3. no 4 half way house to a shaft drive  Funnily enough I was looking at this the other way around, and the kits to change a Buel from belt to chain, because dispite the dealer saying the belts are good for 30k or so, no-one who uses them expects anything over 10k, and buys another belt about then. Cheers Mark. |
