Notify current insurance about previous policies 'dismissed' claim?
Hi all,
Hunting high and low for any info on this, to no avail. After renewing my insurance I had a claim made against me which fell under my old policy (different company). The claim went to court and was dismissed, so no claim was 'won' against my previous insurers. Am i required to inform my current insurers of the dismissed claim against my previous policy? The (Hastings) policy is a little vague, and makes no mention of a dismissed claim. I don't want to invalidate my policy, but also I don't want to flag it up/increase my premium if it's not necessary. Any experience? TIA |
Re: Notify current insurance about previous policies 'dismissed' claim?
it was dismissed therefore no claim. as far as i know a claim is only valid if a pay out is made.
best ask your new insurers to be sure. |

They usually ask for any accidents that you've been involved in, in any vehicle under any policy in the last 5 years.
If it falls under this then declare it. Otherwise I'd say you're ok. |
