Kawasaki W800 is coming back

I wish they'd let it rest:

I liked the original but I just don't like brown. In commercial printing, when you mix 96% cyan with 84% magenta and 84% yellow you will get black, in theory. In reality you don't, you get a sh***y brown, a bit like this bike.

I like the seat (bar the colour) but the fairing? Did they run out of paint?

...other than that, it's ok :)

Every time I see a bike like this it reminds me that I'd like a Bonneville. (In reality I probably wouldn't when it comes to actually riding it, but as long as I can't afford one anyway...)

Hmmm. Paint aside (just horrid) it is a nice bike that's trying too hard. Kwakasaki are putting it up against the Triumph Street Cup by the looks of it instead of the Street Twin which is where it used to be pre-termination which is a bit of a step up and possibly too far. The W800 had a cult following and when it was dropped Triumph were happy to take the disappointed potential buyers with the T100 and Street Twin from their recently revamped "Modern Classic" range. If they'd stuck to their roots they'd sell a bunch I reckon if the price was right, especially as it's still an air cooled lump which Triumph cannot count on any more.

I love the look of the new Royal Enfield interceptor 650 which is also air/oil cooled. Seriously thinking about trading the curvy in for one ( when they eventually reach these shores ). Me knees and wrists struggle after an hours riding nowadays and I've always preferred naked bikes. Seems there's a bit worry over reliability but you get a 3 year warranty on them.

Has anyone ridden a Street Twin?

I have a T100 as I wanted twin clocks and the ever so slightly bigger frame. The ST has the same engine as mine. Most people I've spoken to who try them absolutely love them and the dealer tried to get me to take one on a test ride before I plumped for the T100. Having sat on one it felt a little small but I was probably blinded by the chrome and wire wheels of the T100 sat next to it...

I prefer the look of the T100 but the ST is a tad cheaper. I think the T100 also has a higher seat height, which at 6' 1" I'd prefer.
