May Photo Competition - Messing about on the river -VOTE OFF!
 

Grew up next to the Medway and spent my childhood messing about with boats and fishing rods. Never lived far from a river for most of my life, and never happier than when the river is part of the soundtrack of my life.
So this month's theme is "Messing about on the river".

Though not technically a river, Coniston does have rivers attached - love this steam boat

I just realised this one is probably eligible. Taken on my ancient S5 just before the storm broke. Strictly speaking it's a canal. The sunlight made the boats glow against a very angry sky.

Garynortheast is the only photo with a human(s) in the river actually 'messing about' - others are just a river with no one really doing anything
