Is there anyone alive down there??

I was just looking at the map, and there's a heck of a lot of good biking roads down your way. Maybe even enough to arrange a little rideout this summer.

Anyone down there interested?

Keith.

Yes! Based just outside Bristol and I'd really like to explore some more this year. I don't often get enough time to get very far so tend to stick to the same routes and always ride alone as I can't plan enough in advance to co-ordinate meeting up with anyone. I need to get organised and further afield this year though. Keen to explore down into the Mendips and Devon area.

Ahhh, summer days spent riding around the shire, picking dead flies, road grit and lumps of goat poo from ones helmet front! Should one desire a nice bit of road up my way, I can recommend a trip up Cheddar Gorge, through Velvet Bottom and down Burrington Combe. It is not very far, but it is very, very pretty and may involve goats. :D

Ah Jayne, we miss your sense of humour. Please post more often as you always make us smile.

I check in every now and again, but not being able to ride as much anymore makes me sad and a tad bitter and sweary. :salut:

My New Years resolution was to ride my bike more in 2019, which given that I have recently passed my driving test for a car, means I don't have to practice in the cage anymore! Come the warm days of summer and providing my aching old bones can cope with it, I will be out and about, riding along the rutted and potholed roads like an arthritic snail with a head cold!

I also need to get riding more because I have a new friend who needs to be trained in the ways of the biker, so that we can find her a decent boyfriend and not the kind of worthless man babies she has been dating of late! :smt107

I did have one epic ride in 2018, but it was only a short one across the bridge into Wales... Where I saw Slayer in Cardiff! It was awesome, a great ride and an amazing gig. I could not move for a week afterwards, but it was worth every agony just to hear Tom Araya screaming through Angel of Death! My heart melted. :smt054
