Qudos Insurance warning!!!!

I've never had this happen before and I've been lucky. My SV is off the road at the moment(SORN) e.g Winterized and has not been ridden after the Bankruptcy date.

I checked my Insurance as I wanted to see if I could suspend it to save a bit.

I found out I've been insured with a Company called,"Qudos".When I went to find a phone number I found this!!

https://www.fscs.org.uk/what-we-cove...-insurance-as/

My insurance runs out in March and even though I can check my TAX and SORN

I don't know how to check if I'm still insured.I'm going to take out a new Insurance with another company before I put the Bike on the road anyway after reading this as I'm assuming I'm not insured.

Comments welcome.

Be careful as it's illegal to insure the same vehicle more than once, on the off chance that you're still insured.

I've considered that and will try and contact Qudos and also declare the situation to a new Insurer.

personally i would take it on the chin and get a new insurance policy. once brexit has been and gone then chances of ever getting compensation or even your outstanding premium back are pretty slim.

contact your broker..

Replacement insurance

If your broker can replace your policy with a new insurance provider, FSCS will pay the broker the return of premium compensation where we have reached an agreement with them. Your broker will then pass this return of premium on to your new insurance provider. Your broker/new insurer will tell you if they’ve replaced your policy and you will be able to cancel any replacement cover during the 'cooling off period'. FCSC and DGF will each fund their own share of return of premium to the new insurance provider. FSCS may not be able to pay compensation if a broker funds replacement cover or pays return of premium on its own without securing an undertaking from you that they are required to repay the broker.

As per my other post BIB I've written off any compo etc.

I've contacted Quodos and my Broker,"BikeSure" and will see what they say.

I've started the thread so anyone else who might be insured with Qudos know that they may be riding illegally and with no cover.

"You can cancel your policy early by contacting Qudos, who will advise you on how this might affect the value of return of premium on your policy."

Looks quite straightforward, cancel policy and start a new one with another insurer.

depends if paid by DD.. if it is then its like a loan and will come with conditions.

i got a bit worried there as my insurance broker is BikeSure, i'm with Marksman so alls good.

TBH its up to your broker to honour your insurance as thats who you paid.

Re: Qudos Insurance warning!!!!

The insurer is in breach of the agreement so I reckon cancelling the DD at the same time would be perfectly in order.

Two phone calls and the problem is over.

Trying to get the broker to sort it will likely prove to be easy as nailing jelly to a wall.

They just got back to me and have said that I am still insured and if and when I renew they will move to another underwriter. No explanation but at least it has put my mind at ease and was well worth checking.

I wonder what might have happened if I had not contacted them :/
