Cheap Chin-Mount action camera blog
I thought I'd chronicle the little work I did getting the cheap Orskey Action camera to fit on the front of my Motorcycle helmet.
Hope it's useful to anyone wanting to Chin-Mount a camera, https://cx500.000webhostapp.com/Acti...ionCamera.html |

Nice image quality from such a cheap camera, and nice and stable.
You can see why GoPro are struggling to sell their over priced cameras, when ones like this for a perfectly good job for a tenth of the price. I'd used my SJ4000 cam on a little bracket on my fairing. Wind noise is always a problem |
Re: Cheap Chin-Mount action camera blog
Yeh the wind noise is less when I used the Waterproof cover but I found it much easier to use without it.Also since making those videos I've found some more small holes on the bottom of the case that I think are letting in the Wind noise at speed as well.I've put a bit of tape over them and will try it out tomorrow as it looks like a nice day for a ride :)
Also whilst googling around I know some people have hacked the Mic wires and fitted a 3.5mm socket so an external mic can be used.I have one of those small,"Lavalier " mics https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clip-on-L...gAAOSw8d5ZXfPp around somewhere so might do that some time in the future. Then I could rig it to the rear of the bike or somewhere to catch better engine sounds :) |
Re: Cheap Chin-Mount action camera blog
If you're going to use one of those, you'll need something like this to dampen the wind noise

It's a Merkin Tribble :smt005 Thanks for that Maviczap but I've done a lot of home recording over the years as one of my other skills is a Guitarist/Song writer so have used,"Pop/Wind socks" a lot :) |
