I like two strokes!
Two strokes are loud, frequently rattly, often unreliable and are an environmental nightmare, but I like them.
I've never owned a Kawasaki triple but always wanted an H1E (the first to have a rubber mounted engine). The 750 (H2) was meaner - if you put your cutlery into your tumble drier, that's what the engine sounded like. I'm not a fan of custom bikes generally but this one I like: http://kickstart.bikeexif.com/wp-con...fe-racer-1.jpg https://rideapart.com/articles/bike-week-kamikaze-h2 The noise must be incredible - 3 expansion chambers, no airbox. My friends H1A used to do 22 mpg - I'm guessing this H2 will be worse, but fun though. |

Me too. I love them.

Re: I like two strokes!
Nice, that. Needs skinnier tyres though.
Another stroker lover here: I had a GT380 for 17 years before getting the SV (hence my username). It had some very rare period J&R spannies on it, the noise would make your hair stand on end - not especially loud but pure music. Unfortunately, I holed the left piston giving it some rice (the left-hand crank seal was always a little suspect, and it sucked a little too much air that time) and blew molten ally all around the big end and mains. By the time I'd priced up a crank rebuild, then a rebore and new pistons, then a gearbox inspection .... and the frame needed repainting .... and the chrome on the wheels was getting a bit dodgy .... I decided to flog it as a project and got an SV instead. I don't regret selling it, but there's nothing quite like the feeling of a stroker coming on the pipe, as the exhaust note sharpens from a drone to a wail :D |

Re: I like two strokes!
Three cylinder two stroke? Bloody amateurs. Theres a place near here where you can see the real deal-----a 48 cylinder version of the Kwak stroker. Now that is proper insanity.

Re: I like two strokes!
Passed my test on a 2 stroke 250 CanAm army bike, before that had a TS185 then GT185
After test got an LC350. Last 2 stroke I had was an MZ TS150 winter hack which was a whole lot more fun than you might think. Love 2 strokes, haven't had one in years, my next one will probably be a Vespa. |
Re: I like two strokes!
This is my old 380 about 8/9 years ago, just after I fitted the J&R spannies. If you put your ear to the screen, you might just be able to hear them ;):D
