Me and the Mrs should be going to the AR this year, not really fancying a treck to essex on our own though, anyone else going.. or thinking about it or whatever? we could organise a group meet up and go if it suited?

I've been thinking of planning a route to the AR from the Manchester area avoiding the motorways as much as possible, for anyone to join along...
The possible route I've been thinking won't be too far from you... could possibly organise a 'MIGTS' meeting point along the route if others wanted to go down together?

I'll be going if nothing untoward crops up. It would be great if the Midland contingent could ride down together.

Steve: sounds like a similar route to what I was thinking about - across to the A1 and head south, with a slight detour to keep me as far away from the M25 as possible.

surely as you get on the m25, your back off it again pretty quick if you go down the A1?

A130 - A12 - A414 section looks like it cuts nearly 20 miles off, and would probably wake things up after a long motorway stint.
