Heh, that looks like a beast.

I've always admired people that take the engineering path less travelled. When I used to go with my dad to race meetings at Oliver's Mount and Cadwell in the 70s, sidecar racers in particular would shoehorn all sorts of unusual engines into their outfits. Nick and Gerry Boret had the 'flying cheese' Konig flat-4 powered outfit, which sounded like Satan's chainsaw, and some others used a Crescent 3-cylinder 2-stroke or a tuned Saab 2-stroke triple.

Our colonial friends seem to come up with ground breaking designs on a regular basis, Britten is one that springs to mind, that fantastic v twin was just pure genius. Nothing was taken from other makes of bike, he wanted to create a bike that was made to do it's job with no compromise... and he certainly did just that. A true master.
