GMIX -SIII 's Proposal for 2016.

Whilst we are all still giddy about the excellent GMVIII, I would like to guage interest in my proposal for GMIX or G'MIX as it will be henceforth known !!!!

Although in a drunken stupor Dean said he would run another Kinlochleven, but once home and at the hands of his lovely missus:smt021, he is not.:crutches:

I have been looking at accomodation (the most difficult part) and have found a large victorian residency in Moffat, short walk from town centre, that looks to be willing to take us in July next year (to be confirmed, once interest is guaged). It is an activity centre more used to taking outdoor activity groups, has approx 13 rooms and is able to accomodate up to 70 people. there is a range of large bunkrooms, small bunkrooms and family rooms. Not sure exactly, would be confirmed. Regular Couple's (Mrs & Mr Combat, Tiger & AJC) would be accomodated as best we can, but not know till after a site visit.

There is self catering facilities and i will be arranging breakfast on-site for the 2 days and maybe catering for the saturday night, which is available, but will need to be priced up, or people suit themselves and go to Moffat to eat. Again this can be sorted at a later date.

The only downside is that everybody would have to be willing to stay at the centre, because we need at least 30 to make it a go'er. Prices will be very reasonable at approx £25-30 per person for the two nights.

The route will be a run to the coast, either east or west, which will be sorted by the usual team, so you know you will get some belting roads to ride.

What I need form you guys, especially the GM regulars, is a note of interest and that you would be willing to join us all in the 'Big Hoose' before I give this anymore time / effort.

Not sure about that room with 8 beds, looks like a Victorian hospital ward :smt103

We prefer a LOT more privacy lol

More details a bit further down the line before we would commit. NICE TO GET IT ON THE GO ALREADY< WELL DONE SIII

Edit: Looks quite similar to the BackPackers place we used a few times in Ambleside for the Hardy Bikers Rideouts. Good thing being is your proposal is sole use. We used it sharing with others. Great accommodation proposal

The Hot Iron Award for striking while it's hot goes to..... SIII!

We used similar setup for the Aviemore run in the past (anyone remember them, what a hoot lol) where the majority used a few dorms and with Grant and a few others opting for nearby b+b's

Looking good already.

I'd be well up for it if I could get a smaller room.

It'll be nice to go to a GM and be able to chill. Ron you're a star for taking over for next year...

I could start working on 2017.

It would be the end of July 22-24th, I am looking at and there is availability.

Not sure how big the rooms are, but at less than 1/2 capacity (using 30 of 70 beds !! )there could only be 4 in that 8 bed room !!!

Will have to go look see before confirming we use this place, as I would need to see how many rooms/beds. But as there is 13 rooms - can't all be 8 beds / room.

We only used 15 rooms/cabins in total at Kinlochleven, so we would only lose 2 rooms, not much doubling up if we had the same attendance.
