snetterton - 6/4/09
i've just found and booked myself onto this day. i know it's pretty short notice, but i only just got the go ahead from work to borrow a van from work.
so... is anyone up for/able to come and join me? even if your not going to ride there a seat in the van (unfortunately there won't be any space for other bikes as the company vans have been downsized :(). oh and the day if you want to do it is only £75!! http://www.focusedevents.com/event_info.asp?ID=952 |

Re: snetterton - 6/4/09
Sorry I missed you Chris, had a bit of a disastrous day. Big argument with the noise tester because the dash on my GSXR doesn't have a numerical tacho so he couldn't have his exact 5,500 rpm (everybody else just asks me to stick it about halfway up the scale!) and he refused to test me. I eventually had to get the organizer involved and he made the tester see sense (even if he failed to see the red bull can behind the baffle). This made me late out for the first session and when I did eventually get out it was red flagged after one lap! Second session went Ok and I got nicely dialed in, then third lap of the next session the engine went bang right on the start line, looks like valves and pistons got to know each other......still I was looking for an excuse to tweak the engine....

Re: snetterton - 6/4/09
my day wasn't much better. i binned the blade in the second session pretty badly and have knackered the whole of the right side. dented my confidence pretty badly as i don't really know why it happened, but went out a bit later on, on the sv for a couple of sessions and then went home.

sorry to hear about the blade, sounds like you got away okish?

Re: snetterton - 6/4/09
Sorry to hear about the off Chris, but try not to let it get to you. Sometimes working through it afterwards helps understand what may have happened so you have something to blame/work on next time but there are times you just have to put it down to experience. I wrote a Fireblade off at the Nurburgring once with a front end wash out that came completely out of the blue and in the end i just settled for slagging off the 16" front tyre, even though it probably had more to do with me pushing to hard to soon....
Where did you come off, was it going in/out, on or off the throttle? |
Re: snetterton - 6/4/09
Unlucky about the Fireblade Chris. Do you think it'll be long before it's track ready again?
