It's alive!

I got it running today
New battery, carb, ht cap & petrol was all it needed for the engine to run
a few kicks & put put put

I still need to finish off the wiring (head light bowl mainly)
and I need a chrome vented exhaust shield, but can not find one to fit this model yet.

I also need to repair/replace the side panel that covers the battery and fit the air filter

Powder coating by Cannon Coatings (Ilkeston)
Chrome plating by J A Baddeley & Co ltd (Nottingham)

My stepson Dan loves it more than his Piaggio

I love the way it wheelies in 2nd:D

The Wife doesn't like the tracks in the lawn:(

For a 32 year old bike, it runs lovely and this has been it's first oil change
I want to register it but I have to take it to the DVLA for an inspection because we cannot find the import documents from 1977

So nearly back together but far from finished
With all the new shiny stuff on, all the little bits like nuts, bolts & washers look sub standard

I now need a bigger garage...

...for my next project

a TL powered kit car would be nice:smt077

Re: It's alive!!!!!

So that's what you've been spending all the profits from the Fixer peg on John.

So are you going to post it to the DVLA. I'm sure there's a jiffy bag big enough.:D

Tell you what, that looks a lot of fun.

Good luck with the hunt for the missing bits.8-[

Re: It's alive!!!!!

I always assumed original monkey bikes were classed as classics...they are very highly sought after aren't they?

Re: It's alive!!!!!

Now that is a LOT of money

I have seen one the same as mine go for £1750:D

not to be sniffed at

box of rusty metal from father £0
powder coating & chrom plating through work £0
bits & bobs from various places £400 (ish)

now that would not be a bad profit:D
