Multiple Scerosis

I don't usually like asking people for money but this is a subject close to my heart.

My daughter is doing a 10k run next month on behalf of the MS society. Some of you might be aware that my wife suffers from this hideous disease and has had to endure the gradual decline in mobility over the last 27 years.

We always hoped that a cure might be found in her lifetime but that seems unlikely now. Even so we mustn't give up the fight and the MS society can use every penny given to it.

Please help if you can, no donation too small.

Thanks for reading.
John

I've contributed. MS is a mofo and affects my mum also.

When you ask around its surprising how many people are affected by it. One aspect is that when you're diagnosed you're not sure what the future will bring. Some people decline slowly others are in a wheelchair within a couple of years.

Thanks for the donation.

Re: Multiple Scerosis

One of my best friends was diagnosed 3 weeks ago after suffering tremors and blurred vision. She's one of those fit sporty types who makes me feel like a sloth. Last month she did a sponsored 100 mile cycle ride for ovarian cancer, now she faces some really life changing symptoms.

I'm off work until 1st but once I'm back I'll do you a donation via my payroll giving account, I know it won't show up on your daughter's page but you'll know I've donated for your wife, for Simon's mum, for my friend Lisa and all those who need a cure for this horrible disease.

Sorry to hear about your friend Claire. It really does come like a bolt from the blue. My wife originally had the vision problem but it was only a couple of years later when she was pregnant with Laura that the diagnosis was made.

Thank you for the promised donation.

I'll take some photos on the day of the run and get them on here with a full report.
