DL650 V-Strom handguards on a SV650
They do fit, in fact they go straight on.
This morning was spent watching my ex-girlfriend fit a set to her naked K3 650 (she wants to learn how to spanner, so I stand there and direct while she does the work). I don't know if they'll fit a faired SV because I think the master cylinders being different might pose a problem. She reckons at £24-50 it's money well spent. |

Re: DL650 V-Strom handguards on a SV650
I'll ask Tori to send some photos of the handguards. She wouldn't mind you sending photos of herself too, but you all appear to be frightened of young, pretty, fit blonde women. She has fitted a set of Laverda Jota replica adjustable bars to her bike, so the guards look a bit strange fitted to what are in effect dropped bars. However, if you don't care about aesthetics and just want warm hands through winter then these are the mutt's doodahs.
The £24-50 quoted is the standard Suzuki retail price and cheaper than those dangerous handlebar muff things. I ordered the guards from good old Mission Motorcycles in Milton Keynes on Tuesday at 3pm and collected them on Thursday at 10am - now that's good service. 6 weeks ago Tori ordered some via her local Honda dealer (they also own a Suzuki dealership) in Norwich and they've come up with all manner of excuses as to why they still haven't arrived. She's calling them in the morning to tell them to forget it. Useless bunch of to$$ers. |
Re: DL650 V-Strom handguards on a SV650
I fitted these to my curvy in September:
Forgot so this is an edit: The left hand guard tightens up against the choke lever on curvey so I had to carve(Stanley knife) a very amount off to get the choke lever to slide freely. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_0525.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ber2007006.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_0439.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_0438.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_0437.jpg The white powder on the grips is from the inside of powdered nitrile gloves. |

Re: DL650 V-Strom handguards on a SV650
Thanks for the photos guys. I won't bother Tori to take and send any because those show pretty much what they look like fitted.

I think Stu has, or had, them on his pointy too.

I had Stu's guards off his pointy... but he did.
