Re: The running thread.

Decided sod it and went out today at lunch. My sanity needed it.
My back seemed to hold up well. I took it a little slower than normal.

Before I got on my bike this morning I put some deep heat on my back, the sensation had long since passed.
However the more I ran the more it seemed to kick in again! My backs on fire now....

Woke up this morning with the beginnings of a sore throat, just done a sal****er gargle to try and fend it off.
Just what I need for Sunday!
I should have expected it as my youngest has been trying to cough up one of her lungs for the last couple of days.

Re: The running thread.

I have a stinking cold now. Tomorrow's run will be a bit harder than it should have been.

However this cheered me up.
Earlier in the week my missus told me about a friend of hers who just posted up a picture of a medal she got for running 100 miles in Jan. She showed me the website therunchallenge.com and said I should enter. As I'd never done 100 in a month before I looked into it. Normally you can't enter after the event, but I contacted them and they had uncollected medals, so they were happy for me to enter. £3.99 later and I was done. This was on Thursday. Look what arrived this morning.

Smart!! Well done Martin!

Just looking at the website now and thinking I should have a go at this.

My canicross group run never happened in the end. I had to cancel it because of the wind. Most of the route is through woodlands and forestry so we didn't want to risk the possibility of falling branches. There was a yellow weather warning over the whole area till 3pm today. I shall reschedule the run.

Re: The running thread.

Well that was a bit of a slog. Very cold, wet and windy 13.1 miles done. Ran with my missus, we both gee'd each other round. Blimey it felt like a long way around. I'm not sure I had broken my new shoes in properly. They felt amazing for the first 8 miles and then rapidly got more and more crippling.
Still I'm quite stubborn so wouldn't let them or my missus beat me. Got round in just under 2 hours, which is better than I'd hoped with my stinking cold, and twinging back.

I'll add pic's when back at work. Hopefully I can move in the morning.
