I started with just a cheap lid but now going on to a bigger bike I need to upgrade.

I was looking at the Caberg Duke (In white) retails for £144~ and can be picked up easily from Sportbikeshop / amazon etc

- Weighs only 1.5kg (light for a flip up right?!)
- Antiscratch/anti fog visor which is rubber sealed
- Pin lock ready (pin lock insert also included, normally £20-£30)
- Drop down tinted internal visor
- Really good big front vent system
- Fully removeable/washable liner/chin guard and space for intercom
- Wind noise meant to be really low which Caberg and known and pride themselves on.
- BADASS shape!
- The list does continue xd

It seems to tick ALL boxes for me! and I am bemused why everyone doesn't own one xd

I was wondering if anyone does own one and can share their thoughts? Is it comfortable, does it feel quality, is the tinted visor dark enough? you know stuff that statistics don't cover :)

I've got one, only had it since March. Done a bit over 4000 miles so far and all good. Don't be afraid to get one a little tight as mine has loosened up nicely to a good fit. I don't use the pin lock so cannot comment except that it looks good enough quality wise.
The drop down visor is as good as most, it does not fully retract so is always visible if you look up. It is easy to operate with the lever being big and easy to find.
Noise wise it is acceptable to good, I often use it without my custom made ear plugs.
More important to me is the day long comfort which is good, 970 miles over the Easter weekend and I hardly noticed it. Wind resistance is also good, so you don't feel like your head is being pulled off. All in all you notice it very little , which has to be good as anything that distracts you from the job in hand isn't.

Their's a final (stiff) 'click' on mine to fully retract the Sun visor out of site!!

For me, its a superior lid to my Shoei....
Lighter quieter snuger comfort/fit, no thoughts on the pin-lock......its there, it works, its unobtrusive, its out of mind!!!
Capped to bits with it!!!

(Be aware if buying by post.......they measure bigger than other helmets.....

I bought mine of this forum and lucked out size/fit/comfort wise!!

BIG plus......dont get helmet lift at 'silly speed' with the Duke ('skirt' under chin bar?) which I do with the Shoei, n the Shoei's a tighter fit!!!

I had one. One problem i had with it was the pinlock. It did not want to create a seal with the maim visor right in the middle where you breath.
I tried adjusting the pins on both sides but the pinlock kept popping back out

Good feedback just what I was after.

The internal visor being visible does concern me slightly but I don't think would be enough to put me off. Although it sounds like some do and some don't move completely up? :S

I would prefer to purchase in store but have to find one that sells Caberg first! I did think the large size in CM seemed a bit big to be honest so really want to find a store! (I'm in Hertfordshire, anyone know any good retailers near me?)

Any issues with the pinlock doesn't upset me too much, having it is a bonus I think the fact it is included doesn't reflect the price anyway!

They are very good noise wise......I've never used ear plugs, n the Caberg is the 'quietest' lid I've owned!!
First time out I nearly shat my self.........40 mph built up area, Police traffic car shot past me about 120mph all bells/whistles/lights going n I didn't hear it till it was right on my @rse/passing me!!

I have an old Caberg Justissimo GT. It's the only flip lid I've had so can't compare it to others, it's not quiet and it does hamper your lifesavers a bit but it's a good helmet. I may have a look at this Duke one, I really should get a new lid

I am not particularly after a flip up lid but I first stumbled on the Duke when I saw it on Sharp rating as 5* so looked further in to it.

Am I really sacrificing visibility with getting a flip up? does a flip up mean I have a much bigger chin area and less view up/down and side/side?

I mean there is no point in having a 5* safety rating if its going to cause you to miss something in your blind spot and cause a crash!!!

If you are after big visibility and flip up helmet get nolan n104evo. Massive field of view and well built.
