500 pages of this thread! Just noticed.

Not got anywhere with the rewind of the Durst. Am hoping I can take a bit off the top and I can tap it with a hammer, right now I can't from below as the only thing it can lean against is one of the sprockets against the edge of its slot in the film chamber. I think if I can tap the top then the bottom end will be supported well enough. If that doesn't move it, it's never going to shift.

500 pages already! I thought you had the Durst back together? Looking forward to going to Duxford next week, hoping the weather holds.

I did then realised I hadn't fixed the rewind release button. It's still in bits now, there's oil all over the place. I managed to get a little gear off the top and had to whack it with a hammer to free things up. I can't take the shaft out as there is a screw on the side and the head's broken, so I'll have to free it up in situ. I broke a conical cap of the top of the pin but it should go back on okay. Strewth.

Found this in the loft. Written in 1979. The most modern camera is a Minolta xd7.

Frankenkenzie! You've had more luck than me. The rewind button/shaft on the Durst is still sticking, I can't take it out of the camera because of a busted screw. The new Ikonta shutter arrived, it is very similar to the one I need but not exactly. I could mount it on the SI IV and it would work, although the meter would no long be of any use as it's marked in EV only. The focus helicoid is the same pitch but a slightly different diameter, so the rangefinder would work. Might just do it and try it out.

Not so fast! The black button one still has a red flag issue and won't fire and the aperture is still misbehaving. One of the silver button ones is in a better condition shutter-wise and is pretty much working, it's got some brassing so will be functional but not tip-top to look at. I'll film test these and probably offer them to anyone here who wants it.
