Fork value
I'm getting tempted by a winter front end swap project, what might I expect to get for my ktech and emulatored 2010 forks in near perfect condition?
Whether I can afford to do the swap is a little dependant on what I can get back. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk |
Re: Fork value
TBH the only thing you are going to gain is better brakes (subjective as they can be too good) and comp/rebound adjustment but once they are set then thats it you should not be twiddling the clickers afterwords.
the above plus 'tart/bragging' factor. its expensive when you add up all the things you need like mudguard, yokes, bolts, discs, wheel, axle, axle nut never mind depending on your weight you will need a spring upgrade and a service. the valving is harsh as stock as they are designed for the track. so in truth all you gain is better brakes which can actually be too good, pulling radial brakes in anger is a delicate job and requires a lot of 'feel' especially coupled with the engine braking of the SV. depending on how quick a rider you are you might be throwing good money away. other factors are also an upgraded rear shock so unless you have already done that then dont do the front end swap and spend the money on the rear. what you have in your forks is 90% performance of cartridge forks. your bike though.... for the complete front end off yours your looking at around £250-300 if you can find someone wanting to buy it. ooohhh and you will need to set up a speedo drive so extra cost there as well. |

Is this what you are looking for? If you buy it I might be interested in your forks |
Re: Fork value
Yeah I've looked at that but hes uprated the springs for a 14st rider (I'm 10 to 10.5) and I'd rather but a complete end if I could.

Re: Fork value
Yeah I'm beginning to think 'what's wrong with the forks I have'
If everyone says I'm not gaining much by swapping why do so many people do the swap Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk |

Re: Fork value
at the end of the day its your bike :-)
more things to be getting on with rather than a front end swap on the sv which should keep you amused for a good while. if you do intend doing a swap then let the org help as there is more than what people think as to parts. |
