sesame seed oil. yup i shizz you not, it works great :thumbsup:

i have tried all sorts of stuff including branded sticky stuff remover, isopropyl, petrol, paraffin, you name it i have tried it.

just removed some sticker glue from a plastic spray bottle i wanted to use and i dont know why my brain said sesame seed oil but it did so me being me thought what the hell. poured some on a cloth and went to work. fekin superb, it glides and removes at the same time and is super quick unlike everything else i have tried which just makes the cloth stick and create a globby mess.

Did you try WD40, it is pants as a lubricant and does go like a sticky film if you leave it to dry, but as a solvent for sticky stuff of all descriptions, dead flies off paint etc it is unsurpassed.

In fact it is such a good solvent that it will effectively dissolve any lubricant out of whatever you spray it on and replace it with something that is as far from a lubricant as you can get.

yup i have tried wd40 and others like 3in1. i have tried everything including mayonnaise, olive oil, vinegar, motor oil, brake cleaner etc.etc. but the sesame seed oil is the doggyzz doohdazzz.

Yeh I wish they would sell that glue they use on domestic bottles stickers.Sticks better than virtually anything else :O

Taking on-board what you posted I've just tried some cooking oil.Same affect.Takes off the glue easy.Been looking for something like this for ages so big thanks :D

I tried all the stuff you had posted before the oil.I keep those spray bottles.I use one with a few squirts of Washing up liquid in it as a pre-soak for pots/pans and plates when I'm cooking.Makes cleaning them easy and saves loads on washing up liquid.I also use another of the same as a cheap none aggressive bike cleaner :)

I'd advise against soaking your bike with a solution like that for a long time, dishwashing liquids tend to have a large amount of salt in them and probably use charged surfactants that can behave as salts.

I only use it as quick degreaser/wash off so it's not
on any surface for long :-D

I discovered years ago that the best way of removing tar from car paintwork is to use butter on a cloth. Same idea as sesame oil but cheaper.

We had to use butter a couple of times to get tar off our cats fur ( don't ask me how the tar got there)

The cat was many years ago now from my wife's friend's cat who had cute kittens :( , we had no cat before or since, mainly to help protect local wildlife and neighbours gardens - cats can cause an awful lot of friction between neighbours lol
