would you trust this

Morning not been on here for a while but just thought , as you're all pretty clued up Id ask your advice.
Selling my van on vantrader and got one of those messages that we hear about other people getting. Its the usual sad story about someone who is house bound and wants your item for a relative. They want to pay via paypal and then send a courier to collect the van after I have emailed some more photos. Mmmmmm.......am I right to avoid this like a smack in the mouth. Can they apply for a pay pal refund after they have the goods etc.[-X.
My instinct is telling me to run for the hills.

They pay by some dodgy means. Like western union and overpay by £200 which is for you to pay the courier. Their payment bounches and you're £200 down.

no way, no how. Run a mile unless the buyer is collecting in person with cash or paying in advance by a method that actually clears properly.

...or say yes, accept the money and keep telling them you haven't received it yet. see what happens.

tell her to send the money to the relative then they can come with the cash. Unless the entire family are housebound, in which case they wont need the van :)
