Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I got the family a camera for Christmas that I wanted a few years back but couldn't afford when they were new out. Picked up a Fuji X100. My son has shown an interest in learning about photography so thought it would be good to get something that can be fully auto, or manual aperture and/or shutter. They all love it, including my wife who used to love using her Olympus Trip a few years back. Smaller than my old DSLR, so very portable with greater control and quality than a phone camera. Feels like a really solid bit of kit when using too.

Looks like a nice bit of kit too, and with a proper proper viewfinder as well. I have a Nikon D5200 but I haven't really used it since picking up an Olympus OM-D. I find it too big and bulky now!

It is nothing fancy/high end (Sony A6000), but certainly better than my old entry level DSLR was and a whole lot lighter & smaller.

Welcome to the fold. My A6600 is a fantastic bit of kit and the only real world extras I have on it over your A6000 is a bigger battery and IBIS. The lack of bulk/weight was my main drive, along with a better IQ and focusing system compared to my admittedly aging DSLR, and it ticks all the boxes for me. Enjoy!

The viewfinder is the reason i went for this one (as well as the price point). I much prefer it to trying to use a screen when using manual focus.

TBH Trev, seeing your review, experiences & switch made me look at the Sony range. Very glad i did too. Impressed with it so far and learning how it works.

Had a temp working with me the other day, I knew there was a way but he showed me how to setup a call scheduler app. We have to do a check call every hour from 9pm-5am within a certain window.

My app dials the number, navigates the menu, puts in the site code, my code and hangs up.. Time for bed :)
